The stones are all solved quite easily, you either need to hit them all at the same time, or in order of increasing stone size, or they are signed with numbers, or there is another clue nearby.
With totems - there are 5 totems scattered around the world, you need to hit them (with any weapon or from a ship) in the correct order:

Long Islands -> Amur Islands -> Sunset Islands -> Twilight Islands -> Misty Islands
