How to unlock the …Is this the end? achievement in Catmaze - Definitive Guide
Make sure to get this first before getting the good ending otherwise it will require another playthrough.
To get the bad ending, you need to beat the game without saving everyone by finishing their side quests. You can finish most of them but not all of them. I hadn't saved the pig yet or gone back to the abandoned house where you fight Chernoborg with the wolf. It is helpful if you save the kids down in the water area and their father and meet them in their house back in the village since they give you the Perunov Flower which gives you the chance to block some damage.
As for the final boss, you can save the game after going through the mirror in the red room on the map. The boss is tough so it is good to have a save right before the fight. It will as you if you want to proceed past the point of no return. This is fine because you have your save before this point. I would recommend filling up on health, strength, and defence potions. And make sure you have at least 100 Tutsans (the green plant things you can throw upward with the Y button). I had my Melee attack set to Ratibor, the big dude that deals heavy damage and Crushing Paws for my ranged attack. I always kept the Strength Amulet on for the whole playthrough.
Once the fight starts, drink a strength potion and start throwing the Tutsans upward at the purple floating boss. When he gets low enough, hit X while close to have Ratibor take a swing. Feel it out and use your Crushing Paws when things get tough for some quick damage in the later parts of the fight. When the health gets low, switch to the green potion, drink it, then switch back to Tutsans for the attack. I spent a lot of time going back to my menu and drinking various potions and coming back to Tutsans. Took me a few tries but was finally able to dodge enough attacks and dish out enough damage between my X and Y attacks and the occasional Crushing Paws.
Once the achievement unlocked, I quit to the dashboard and quit the game to be safe. Once I reloaded, it was still saved before the final boss and I could just mirror back up to the main map and and work on the rest of my playthrough for the good ending.
