How to unlock the Never Not Sliding achievement in Chariot - Definitive Guide

I tried a few times for this achievement without it unlocking. Don't know what I was doing wrong the first few times but thought I'd try to re-create what I did when it did pop. My successful run was just over 5 minutes and as the DVR function on Xbox One only records 5 minutes, at a time, I did this at a quicker pace.

NOTE: time is not a factor for this achievement, you can take your time.

In the video you will see I pull the chariot onto platforms and let go of the rope and re-attach it. As you can't wind the rope for this achievement the release and catch again method helps keep the rope length short for the small platforms.

I use the 'Attractor' gadget fully upgraded for this achievement. As you will see I jump and activate the gadget; this allows you to get more height as the chariot shoots up to meet you allowing you to jump again.

Hope this helps anyone still wanting to unlock the achievement.

I made it to the exit about 4 times with the skeleton character and it didnt unlock even though i felt like i didnt make a mistake. Made it first try with the Princess and it unlocked facepalm . Probably just a coincidence but you never know

I was able to get this with a level 2 magnet, following this video as a guide. Thanks!

One thing to note for people seemingly doing it fine and missing it. I think when you jump with the rope in your hand (holding A) you unwind it, so that could be the problem people face.

Jumping with the rope in your hand doesn't cause difficulties with the achievement. I used that very method when it popped for me.

fantastic achievement guide. Took me 10 minutes to get through the level after reading this guide.

Can doubly confirm that jumping with the rope in your hand doesn't effect the achievement. I panicked halfway through thinking it would, but it still popped at the end.

Make it three that held A and got it no problem. Also wanted to add you can use the Warp that is in the DLC to get it up levels and still unlocked the achievement no problem!

I tried it a couple times thinking it should have unlocked but it didn't. When I did it I didn't reload from any checkpoints (think that might matter) and I used the Attractor (magnet) because I think the Peg might void the achievement (counts as anchor?).

You also cannot hit cn_LSd or cn_down (anchor), cn_LB or cn_RSu (wind rope). I actually wouldn't even unwind just in case so just don't move the right stick or anchor yourself.

I also went to the Bottom Exit because I was having trouble making a jump at the the Top Exit (i'm sure its possible just the lower one was easier).

If anyone can confirm or deny if you can use the Peg or checkpoints I'll update this solution.

i did it flawlessly...but used the peg. I was confused why the achievement didn't pop until I saw the actual description (i think in the game?) says you can't wind the rope or anchor it. So yeah, the Peg voids the achievement. i'll try later when I get the magnet upgraded.

Man, I used Magnet and thought I did it perfectly, but still finished without the achievement. 3 times! Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

DLC required.

Using the Warp beacon from The Royal Gadgets Pack DLC makes this achievement fairly easy. Like the other solutions note, you need to do it in one run, no resets for the achievement to pop.

Traverse level 3-4 normally without winding in the rope or crouch anchoring. When you reach a road block, travel without the chariot as far as you can go then press cn_Y to plant the beacon then cn_Y again to warp it. I went for the top exit and the only time the 'distance from chariot' countdown started was on the final ascent to the exit. A quick jump over to the last flat ledge on the left then mash cn_Y to get the chariot to warp in time was the only tricky part.

It takes 20 seconds for the ability to recharge so you'll occasionally have to wait a few times in a row.

Thanks for the tip! I ended up doing this all the way to the top without using the rope at all. The other strategy just wasn't working for whatever reason...

All other Solutions works well, but like they say the achievement wont unlock as it should. After 10 or so perfekt runs without popping i tried a run while using the digi pad and got it first try :)

Probably the Analouge Stick will be pushed down by accident using the anchor without noticing it, so if you have a hard time getting this try the good old 16 bit steering method ;)

The Crystal Castle is level 3-4. The attractor is recommended. You will have to reach any exit without anchoring or winding the rope, so in other words, do not hold to wind up your rope and do not hold down on the left joystick to anchor your character. Doing either of these will result in no achievement. Respawning at a checkpoint after accidentally anchoring or winding will not work, you will have to restart the level.
