You can get this without any upgrades. Start any of the stage 4 levels, which have lava. Equip Shield Bubble. Press

Begin level 4-1 with the Shield Bubble gadget. Walk towards the lava pool ahead of you and use the gadget. Walk into the lava with the shield and it should unlock.
