How to unlock the Spendthrift achievement in Chariot - Definitive Guide

Just a quick note: to keep all of your loot, you have to reach any of the exits of the level. You can't simply save and go back to the main menu screen like with skulls and blueprints, or else you will lose all the gold you collected.

The achievement requires you to pretty much buy all of the upgrades in the game. I actually had to buy everything, but different combinations might save you from having to do so. I think I had 120 loot left to spend before buying the last item, so I was just unlucky. If you plan on completing the game 100%, you should be able to get just over 500,000 loot.

As you progress through the levels, the amount of loot you collect increases. So you'll get a lot more gold in the last level compared to the first level.

Hope this helps a bit!

Any suggestions on what level(s) to farm the most loot on?

Level 2-4 "The Hive" has a big room with a ton of loose gems right at the end... but that's a fairly long level.

BlackBrian7, I suggest trying out the later levels. You get A LOT more loot that way. I left some of the levels with at least 20,000 loot. Sorry, I forgot to put it in the solution. I'll do so right now.

I tested a good few levels and the best I found was level 5-3. It takes me 6-8 minutes and I get around 14000 - 15000 each time.

Can anyone confirm whether this counts loot spent across all three save files?

I can confirm that you must spend all the loot in one save file, which means purchasing nearly everything.

I can confirm that you don't need to buy everything, just almost everything. The only thing I didn't purchase was the third upgrade for the slowdown power.

@Mr McCrayCray you must be an ace to complete 5-3 in 6-8 minutes. I got to that and wasn't even half way through. Is there any other levels that could be recommended for this?

Your best bet is to just play on the later levels. Compared to earlier levels, you'll get a lot more loot. I haven't played the game in awhile, so I'm not sure if there's been any patches or anything like so that could have the affected the difficulty of some of the levels, or if the DLC pack made any of the later levels easier. It's just a grind that you'll have to go through.

Doing the speed run on Level 3-2 with the warp beacon nets you about 3700 loot in about 90 seconds. (See the solution for "Break Everything" for details/video).

I assume this includes spending on DLC upgrades.
Also you can track by subtracting your current loot (in-game) from the “Loot collected” leaderboard in the game’s hub

Not sure what the comment about 3-2 alludes to since I did the "Break Everything" and got nowhere near enough loot in that time, in fact I barely got any loot at all, unless I missed something. I would use 5-3 as stated above, although I could get up to 18k in 9 minutes. However, for this specific achievement you shouldn't need to grind unless you ignore gold a lot.

Loot is a combination of gold, silver, bronze, and diamonds that you constantly collect throughout the game. You can spend loot by purchasing gadgets and gadget upgrades. It costs 590,000 loot to fully upgrade every gadget, just to give you an idea of how much loot 500,000 is.
