This wasn't really clear to me, and I couldn't find any details, so I felt this was worth sharing. While you can use analysis mode any time if you enable it in the normal games, this HAS to be done in the Puzzle Tower. When you get to the final move, hit X to enter analysis mode and move into checkmate. It pops immediately after making the move. I'm not sure if it can be done in the "Best Move" puzzles or not. It also appears that you don't get it on puzzles where you already won the star. I also don't know if this can be done with the daily puzzles or not, so it might be missable. If someone can verify one way or the other, I'll update the solution. User exorr reports in the comments that this can in fact be achieved using the daily puzzle, so I've edited accordingly.
