How to unlock the ELO achievement in Chess Ultra - Definitive Guide
ELO is a ranking system to determine a player's skill. Every time you play a game, it changes. You can view your current ELO by starting a game and looking at the number under your gamertag. Using this guide will help you unlock this achievement and three others:
-From the main menu, select "Single Game"
-Select "New Game", then "Continue"
-Make sure your opponent setting is the first option (computer)
-Additionally, make sure your side is white.
-Select the Grandmaster opponent. Then start the game.
-Make sure your ELO is at least 150 under the computer's ELO. If it isn't, exit out, start a few games with a novice computer and then immediately resign to lower your ELO.
-Go here: https://en.lichess.org/analysis (Note: does not work using Internet Explorer)
-Go to the menu and move the "Multiple Lines" slider from 1 to 5. Also make sure the "Best Move Arrow" option is on.
-Look at the move the blue arrow indicates. Be sure to give the engine a few seconds to think for each move. Make the move on the analysis board, then make the move on Chess Ultra.
-When the computer makes a move on Chess Ultra, make that move on the analysis board, regardless of what the blue arrow says. Repeat until checkmate occurs.

Easiest way to this and the other Ello trophies is to use https://www.nextchessmove.com while playing on single player against Grandmaster difficulty.
At the time of me obtaining this and writing this guide, I am very out of practice at chess. I've been playing Challenger and Amatuer games to (re-)learn strategy from the A.I. Eventually, I managed to beat the A.I., which has a much higher ELO rating than I do currently.
The lesson to be learned here is that you're better off playing against the A.I. that's outclassing you, as it'll be less hand-holdy than the easiest A.I. and when you finally manage to win, you'll get the various ELO rating achievements in the process.
