Which tutorial? There are many.

If you go to the left many times you will se a 4th scenario which is called "Checkmate". It is basically check in one move, so after you do that you'll unlock it

To put an opponent in check, you have to endanger their king with one of your pieces, without getting checkmate (winning the game). Getting check is a natural part of playing chess. If you play a few games, even at a beginner level, you'll easily be able to put your opponent in check.
