How to unlock the Showstopper achievement in Child of Light - Definitive Guide

To interrupt multiple enemies at once, you must have an "(All)" skill unlocked (for example, Slash (All), Starlight (All) or Petrify (All)). These take longer to cast, so try to start the battle with a surprise attack to get ahead of the enemies. To unlock this achievement, you will need to wait until all three enemies are casting at the same time while you hit them. You'll want all the enemies to be travelling together along the timeline, and make sure to defend if you don't think your attack will line up with their casting times. You can use Igniculus to slow down the enemy casting as well to help with the timing. Once all three enemies are casting and your "(All)" attack hits them, the achievement will unlock.

I found this achievement easiest when you had to kill the spiders in chapter 6 on the way to the vault. You use Norah's skill where they can't stop your attacks, I belive it's called unstoppable then use quick, then use the group slash

Is anyone else having problems with this one? I've done it perfectly several times and it won't pop. Really annoying as this is now my final cheevo on this game

I hate this one. I've gotten two and one that is RIGHT BEFORE casting, but otherwise I can't get close. A bunch of enemies seem to cast really fast so you think you'll get them and then they beat you to the cast.

you could name a few good spots to get the achievement. At the moment you only explain what to do, but do not give any useful hints on where. xTGEs comment is not bad, but I passed that section already.. :) any ideas for a place after youve got the moon is appreciated.

Not unlocking. I have interrupted all three enemies at the same time 30+ times now. Seems glitched.

If you're having any trouble with the timing buy you like the enemies you're against. You can keep fleeing and it'll restart the battle with the same 3 enemies.

Straightforward using Robert's Rain Arrows attack on the spiders near the end of Chapter Six. If you can surprise it will help, but I didn't and still managed to get this pretty much straight away.

A cool way to earn this achievement comes during the 3 Serpent boss fight in Finn's questline

For this we need to be at least level 19 , to gain a skill that hits everybody or Robert in the group. Once ywe have it, we should hit the enemy from behind so we are the first to attack. Defend and then make the area attack to get it.

First you'll need an attack that damages all enemies.
Most characters can learn at least one - Robert's "Rain Arrows" is a good skill that doesn't take very long to cast, and he can use it as soon as he joins the party. Note: non-damaging spells like "Lull (All)" will not interrupt.

Get into a fight against 3 enemies that are all bunched up together on the timeline (so they start casting at roughly the same time).
This will sometimes happen naturally, but there are ways to influence the timeline and set it up yourself - see below.

Time an attack so that it hits while all 3 foes are casting (ie. in the red zone on the timeline).
Try to get a feel for how long your attacks take to execute. Again, see below for some ways to influence timing. If you get it right, all 3 enemies will be interrupted, sent backwards across the timeline, and the trophy will unlock immediately.

---

Influencing turn times

Slowing with Igniculus
Igniculus is your little blue firefly friend, controlled with the right stick or touch pad. If you hover over an enemy and hold L2, he will shine on them and slow their actions. Use this on the enemy that is farthest to the right of the timeline, so the other enemies can catch up.

Slowing with skills
Use spells like "Lull (All)" to slow down all enemies. They will take longer to charge their attacks, so you will have more time to hit them and interrupt. Be careful with skills that only slow one target - it's easier to catch them all together in the casting zone if they move along the timeline at the same speed.

Quickening with skills
If your characters' turns keep coming up at the wrong times, or if you can't slow an enemy for whatever reason, you can actually make your own party act faster instead. Norah can learn quickening spells on her skill tree, or you can have any character use "Defend", which speeds up their next turn in addition to reducing damage.

To interrupt multiple enemies at once, you must have an "(All)" skill unlocked (for example, [X]). These take longer to cast, so try to start the battle with a surprise attack to get ahead of the enemies. To unlock this achievement, you will need to wait until all three enemies are casting before using the attack, so if your turn comes up and onle 1/3 or 2/3 are casting, choose to defend. You can use Igniculus to slow down the enemy casting as well to help with the timing. Once all three enemies are casting and your "(All)" attack is ready, let it loose to unlock the achievement.

Interruptions are caused by attacking an enemy whilst they are in the “casting” phase and are about to attack you. All you have to do is attack an enemy whilst they are in that red area and it will interrupt their attack. There is an element of timing to this as all 3 enemies will have to be in the casting phase at the same time as you, as well as you needing to be able to attack them first. You can use Igniculus to shine on enemies to slow them down. Obviously the trophy requires you to do it to all 3 at the same time, meaning that you will have to use an attack that hits all enemies rather than just one.

The best way to go about this is to get into a battle with 3 of the same enemy type, this is because they will all have the same speed stats and will progress along the line together at all times, making it easier to get the timing right. Don't use Igniculus on them and don't use any slow down abilities on just one enemy. The abilities that this can be done with are listed below.
The abilities you can use for this trophy are:

Aurora - Slash (All), Starlight (All)
Rubella - Tumble (All)
Tristis - Tumble (All)
Finn - Wildfire (All), Monsoon (All), Lightning Strike (All)
Robert - Rain Arrows, Hinder (All)
Óengus - Kategida Cleave (All), Quake (All)
Gen - Slow Strike (All)
Golem - Smash (All)

It will be possible to receive a trophy after receiving mass skills from one of your characters. We suddenly attack the enemy.
Important:
  • so that the character with a mass skill would be located further from the “reception” bar.
  • so that there would be 3 enemies in battle.
As a rule, the time to use mass skills is very long, therefore, by the time your character uses this skill, all enemies will be in the “reception” field. If one of the enemies moves along the strip too quickly, slow it down with the help of Igniculus' light.

We can say that as the battles progress, leveling up will work out on its own

When playing on high difficulty, earning a triple interrupt is not so easy (it only happened to me twice in the entire game). The easiest way, in my opinion, is to simultaneously interrupt three spiders with a common attack from Robert during the quest related to Magna’s heart.

Rubella's character does not have a massive attack (fist fight) for very long, but usually, which makes your task a little easier, if you think this trophy is difficult at first glance - don't worry, you will have a lot of such interruptions)
