How to unlock the Winged Fury achievement in Child of Light - Definitive Guide

Devastate is pretty much the name for overkill on this game and will easily be awarded during your 12+ hours in Lemuria. But to explain overkill, just like your party them enemy have health and when it drops low they will begin to bend over as if they are going to faint. This is how you can tell that they are about to die so when you see this, unleash your best attacks on your foes. I personally got this achievement after I gained the ability to fly :)

I am very sure I've done this more than five times and it hasn't unlocked. Potentially glitched?

and the sending an item achievement..

I have the same problem....devastated about 15 enemies now and no achievement. Hopefully it unlocks itself at random. If not, anyone know a way to make it unlock? I hate to delete my save if that doesn't fix it

Thanks for the explanation. I wondered why i got this achievement. I too got it just after being able to fly.

Unlocked for me just fine after five fights. As soon as I got Jester as an ally I used two melee-attacks on the white flying ghost enemies and the third and final/devastating strike was always LIGHT RAY (you can use any other powerful magic).

Every achievement unlocked for me except this one on my first play. I tried starting the game over without resetting or deleting my save and devestated 5 without it unlocking again. I am going to try to play offline and delete local save and hopefully this works. I just didn't want to loose all my in game progress. Any suggestions?

Update: So I tried doing it offline, tried playing another game. Nothing worked... So I had to delete my save file and start from scratch. It never popped up after I got the 5 devastations but I checked and showed 100%.

Yeah so I got the achievement to say "Done...Unlocking!" and about 5 minutes later, it just has no progress again... Anyone find a solution for all of this crap since June?

Devastate is essentially overkill. On the finishing hit against an enemy, if it does a large amount of damage compared to how much HP it has left, then it will result in devastation. Do this 5 times and the trophy will pop.

A devastation will occur when you deal an extreme amount of damage to an enemy, above what would take their life down to zero. You'll likely have this within the first few chapters as you level and fight some of the weaker enemies in the game.

You need to carry out 5 destructions. To carry out destruction, you need to inflict much more damage on the enemy in one move than his remaining health. As the battle progresses, gradually losing health, the enemy will change his stance: from the cheerful initial one to the sluggish death stance (standing slightly crouched). At this point, stand sluggishly and use your strongest move!
