According to Brayarg in the comments, Dead Mage pushed a patch out February 24th that fixes this achievement. Brayarg confirms doing the original requirements and the achievement popped first try.

If you CANNOT pop the achievement using the actual requirements, let me know in the comments. Until then, I am assuming this achievement is fixed.

I went ahead and did a quick run. This is definitely the easiest.

The boss reminds me of Whispy Woods from Kirby. This treant has one action where it plants itself into the floor and sprouts curved roots. To damage the boss one must kill the roots while dodging easily telegraphed wood spikes coming up from the earth.

All characters are possible I simply tried Linda since I originally got this achievement with Linda. Would definitely recommend a fully leveled Kevin or Lucy. They have massive DPS outputs.

Same boss, but I used Lucy who has an ability that gives her shields that negate hits. Means that even though the boss hit me in the fight, I took no damage. (The achievement popping surprised me, cause I know I got hit)

Anyone else having an issue with this unlocking? I have defeated the 2-3 boss multiple times with multiple characters as well as the Spider king again multiple times with both kevin and Lucy sometimes within 20 secs. Im 100% sure Im not taking damage. Even made a point to go through the entire level without taking any damage.

If you're on xbox one, sometimes achievements pop without notifications. If you're playing on Win10, the achievement tracking can be cheeky and do occasionally pop without notification.

Great question! First I've heard of this being buggy but the game did update a day ago.

Perhaps this update broke this this achievement.

I thought at first it was the xbox thing as well, but after defeating the spider king about 10 or so more times it unlocked right when I beat him, so I assume its a bit buggy but just keep at it I suppose.

In case it's helpful, this unlocked for me the first time I concentrated on not taking any damage in the whole dungeon (used Lucy with the 3 shields in 1-1).

Thanks Amkage! Sorry this achievement is also buggy for you. I reckon the newest update bollocked the unlock. There might an accidental difficulty component since they added Hard mode but I would probably go for other achievements or wait.

I ran the first dungeon without taking damage including both floors and the boss. Yet the stats recap at the end mentioned that I healed for 16. I redid the whole dungeon, and I paid more attention so I didn't even lose a single shield. Yet the game said I healed for 14 and still no achievement. Both runs were super short (6 minutes) so I'm 100% sure that I didn't space out and missed something.

Dead Mage and 11-bit have confirmed it's bugged. Others here have been able to unlock it with diligence but I'd recommend waiting for the fix.

A great game I'd hate to be soiled by broken unlocks.

Hi all,

I encountered this glitch as well, completed it 8-10 times with no joy.

John's last family trait (level 20) is auto-regen for the family. I noticed the heal icon above my head symbol every time I started a world. I reset his skill points to turn this off and on the first try afterwards I got the achievement. Worth a try if everyone else is struggling.

I completed the requirements with no one at even level 10 with no luck. I did the first dungeon twice with Lucy not getting hit and it's completely bugged.

Unfortunately I was not as lucky as others. Reset Jon's abilities to remove any health gain and ran through all of 1-1 multiple times with multiple characters, with 0 damage/contact but no achievement.

I just unlocked it, after beating it multiple times and not unlocking I found on the reddit that uninstalling and reinstalling fixes it. I did that, ran through 1-1 with Lucy and best boss unlocking achievement instantly

Yeah C Pav, this achievement is just busted! There is confirmation from the devs that this will be fixed at a later date so I would move on to another game until then.

Some people have been able to pop it through various workarounds so I am updating to not simply write it off as busted.

Just want to add some more info on this achievement:

Nothing mentioned above worked for us when playing coop. Resetting John, reinstalling the game, finishing the entire dungeon without getting hit - nothing.
After that I did a solo run with Lucy and got the achievement. Played with fatigue and lost one of my orbs, so this doesn't void the achievement.

Confirmed: my John was NOT at level 20, and it still didn't unlock when I beat with Lucy. John was not the issue.

Uninstalled, reinstalled, tried again with Lucy, achievement popped on first try with boss.

Just got it myself. First time I reinstalled the game I took damage before the boss and when I did eventually do the whole dungeon without taking damage achieve didn’t pop. Had to reinstall a second time, do the entire dungeon without taking damage and it popped.

With the 2-3 boss, for those who weren't able to get it to pop with Lucy, did you do it without using her decoy, and without the boss using the pull attack on you? It's clearly just buggy, but I'm wondering if there's also a coding problem where the decoy taking damage voids the achievement, and/or if the pull attack the boss does voids the achievement even though it does no damage.

Thinking about it I had switched from Xbox to PC when it unlocked for me as well, so not a reinstall but similar. (Though I attempted a couple of runs with no luck on PC before resetting John and Unlocking it). May be another variable, it forces a gamesave sync when you switch between platforms, might reset the flag of whether it's unlocked or not? Frustrating when there's no clear reason or solution. I also avoided even stepping on health pots or picking up any charms / graces etc. just in case. Jut a straight run to the boss.

I can confirm crazyeyesbtb as well. I did the same thing: uninstalled and reinstalled, played 1-1 with Lucy and got the achievement immediately.

Of note: I didn't realize it when I started, but Lucy had pretty bad corruption fatigue. Despite the ~20% health penalty, I still got the achievement for not taking any damage during the playthrough.

Didn’t end up figuring it out. I was able to get it in the post-game, near maxed out workshop (only 1 health upgrade left) and maxed out Book of Rea. I used Linda with lvl 3 inner rhythm and deft hands. Went into Guardian’s Rage against the 1-2 boss in coop, and destroyed him in a few seconds. My coop partner said she was pretty sure she did take a hit (but not absolutely certain), but I still got the achievement, so for anyone struggling who has a coop partner available, that’s one thing to try - have one person take the hits and damage, and the other stay back with Linda or Lucy and wipe him out. I could be wrong though, she might have just not taken a hit, and maybe either character getting hit voids it. Hard to say.

Um dos melhores lugares pra mim é o primeiro chefe, a Aranha. Vc pode fazer com qualquer personagem, é só desviar dela e bater, porém tem uma hora que ela chama outras aranhas, e é onde você pode tomar dano.

Então eu recomendo utilizar as personagens Linda ou Lucy, pois atacam a distancia em qualquer direção, e Lucy tem uma habilidade que cria um escudo que absorve o dano caso vc seja atingido eventualmente, se você já estiver com habilidades, amuletos e runas será bem mais fácil.

Uma dica, quando a aranha desce, e depois sobe pra te atacar, nesse momento que ela desce, você pode atirar nela a distância, ganhando tempo e causando dano, é possível matá-la antes mesmo dela chamar as outras aranhas.

Again, the poor Spider King will be your punching bag for this. Linda is probably the easiest to get this with once she is Level 20. Enter the fight with a full rage bar, and use it immediately. You will be able to hit the spider with a bunch of shots and possibly kill it before it even attacks. If it retreats into the ceiling, you know what will come next by now - it slams down. Dodge once and continue to attack and that should end it.
