How to unlock the The Beast achievement in Chime - Definitive Guide

This achievement isn't too hard once you figure out how the game works.

I found the first level to be the easiest since the shapes all fit together better than the other levels. It is important to remember that once you build a quad you can keep building onto it until the timer fills up inside. If you manage to add another section onto the quad, the timer resets, giving you more time.

I started by building a 3x3 quad all the way to the left and adding to it over and over again towards the right. It's important to keep it only 3-4 squares high. Once you manage to build it almost completely to the right, the achievement will pop. If you can build the quad the entire width left to right, you'll be 20% done with "The Snake" achievement as well.

It may take a bit of practice, but it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Creating a quad that is 80 cells (blocks) large in one go is pretty much impossible. Instead, it's worth remembering that when you create a quad, it will fill with colour and won't be fully formed until it is completely filled.

Adding extra shapes to the quad to create an extra row or column will restart the filling process, meaning if you are fast enough, you can keep adding to the quad and build it bigger and bigger.

It's worth noting that if you're going for...

... you'll end up unlocking 'The Beast' as a matter of course.

I found probably the easiest way you could get this achievement.
1.) First thing you do is go to the free mode on the main menu.
2.) Choose the very first level.
3.) Once you start the game, try and put all of the peices that aren't the long lookings blocks on the top.
4.) When a long block comes up stack it on the bottom (you want to put two together then a space after them, then two more and a space, and so on).
5.) Then once you have about 80 squares put a long block in the middle of the seperated long blocks, try to keep putting more long blocks in the middle of the separated ones so you can get this.

A 'cell' is just one of the blocks that make up the grid. All you need to do is make one quad that's 80 blocks total. One way to do this is again on the first level or two. Try to make a long quad that stretches from the left side of the grid to the right. By focusing only one one side, you'll make the quad easier to manage. It's a lot easier to only worry about filling 3 or 4 cells to continue your quad's timer vs. expanding both sides and needing to worry about more than that. You'll actually very likely get this achievement while trying to get "The Snake" achievement, as that requires this exact method to unlock.
