How to unlock the Distroy achievement in Cities: Skylines - Definitive Guide

Fairly easy achievement.

Some people say it's glitched. I'm not so sure, I just don't think people are checking they are UNIQUE policies. Best to just have one policy per district

Solution-

Make 11 small/medium residential plots of land with water and power and wait for some houses to be built.

Next it's time to make some districts, to make one you need at least a population of 750 (Might be slightly more for some other maps).

Paint one of the areas you just made. (To paint it's the 3rd tab on the bottom of the main menu between Zoning and Electricity).

Repeat on the remaining areas until at least 11 are done in total.

Choose the inspection tool and press cn_Y

Pick any district.

With the district menu up just press cn_right twice to access the policy menu with cn_A (A letter with a green tick on it)

Choose any policy, make a note of which one you pick.

Pick another district but change the policy to one you haven't used yet.

If you run out of unique policies, there is some more on another page, press
cn_RB twice to find even more policies you can use. (Mileage my vary, I had enough policies to use when I was on 6,000 population however some maps are different).

I did this when I had about 6,000 population, I did this on the lakeside map and I had about 15 policies to choose from. It looks like mileage my vary depending on which map you choose! I did actually have 11 from memory so I'll update the solution.

Just fyi, not sire of it was an update, but the painting tool is now with "zoning and districts" tab. Highlight and push up on d-pad and it will tell you pop requirement for districts (my map was 900)

Even though it says "more than 10 districts" the achievement popped for me before I had the chance to make the 11th district. I had only 10 districts, and each was assigned one (unique) policy. toast

For anyone that is struggling with this, make sure to turn off any city wide policies before zoning. I made 11 policies but some overlapped with city wide ones which seemed to stop the achievement from popping.

Having tried to follow the previous solution and fail I thought I'd share how I finally got this achievement to unlock in case others were having a similar problem as I.

First off Don't make any city wide policies. For the achievement to pop each district must have all unique policies (depicted by an icon underneath each district's name).

I started afresh on the island map and it took me approx 10mins to pop this achievement having tried for hours on my previous city of 75,000 population with upwards of 20 districts.

For ease of use I recommend setting up a town similar to mine, just simple squares. As soon as you can (by population 900, Worthy Village) use the district tool to make 11 districts. The district tool is found 3rd icon on the toolbar and is the second tab.

By 1,400 population (tiny town) you have enough policies to get this achievement.

To assign a policy to a district use the inspector tool (1st icon on the toolbar),
- Hold cn_Y then on the popup menu hold cn_LSd down and let go of cn_Y.
- Select your first district by moving over it and pressing cn_A to pop up the district info.
- On the bottom of the district info popup there's 4 icons, the district policies is the last icon on the right accessed by pressing cn_A.

For ease these are the policies I assigned to each of my districts in order.

Services
1. Power Usage
2. Water Usage
3. Smoke detector distribution
4. Pet Ban
5. Smoking Ban
6. Parks and Recreation
7. Schools Out

Events - tap cn_RB twice to access.
8. Subsidized Youth
9. Come One, Come All
10. Match Security
11. [None] (This counts as a separate policy)

Once you assign 'Match Security' policy and back out of the district policy info the achievement will pop!

This is what my districts look like in the end.

Create a district. While in inspect mode (the symbol with the house and magnifying glass) hit [Triangle]. This will put you into district inspect mode. Select a district and select the policy button. This will bring you to the district specific policy screen.

While in this screen select one policy not in place or deselect one in place. Repeat this 10 times, doing it with a different policy each time.

An easy way to do this is to make 10 small districts next to one another in an unpopulated area. Do the process for each district then just erase them.

This requires a map that that developed a bit. You need to create 10 districts. Pretty easy and there is no size requirement however you wont be able to unlock this until you unlock 10 different policies. Once you have unlocked them, click the policies button, click on each district and set a policy for each.

REMEMBER! Mods disable Achievements.
