How to unlock the For For-Profit Education! achievement in Cities: Skylines - Definitive Guide

The key is making sure you have enough population ready to begin College.

When I attempted this I did it on a map I had been working on, population was around 150k with sizable income and a good store of cash. Keep in mind as well that the more reputation your school has the more tuition you can make off the bonus.

This was much easier by using the hadron collider to turn off elementary and high school education while the population built up with uneducated citizens. At this point I either deleted or turned off my education buildings.

I then built a pretty big area for my first campus. You need to go ahead and start building one of each building anyways for another achievement and it helps with the attractiveness.

When your campus capacity is enough to handle 5k students, turn off any campus policies and staff members. Anything that would suck up money.

Make sure to check your info overview for education and keep any eye on the amount of eligible students.

You should have enough uneducated population to now turn your hadron collider back on. After a couple of minutes your uneducated citizens will transition to college and once you get to 5k students turn the tuition policy on for the city and for your campus.

Let me know if I can add anything. This was just the quickest way for me to grab it. I’ll revise this if I need to make it clearer. Please leave me any criticisms below so I can improve upon this. It’s the first solution I’ve done in some time.

Regarding the Hadron Collider, if I have that active will that prevent people going to Universities, since it educates everyone by itself?

Oh that's handy, thanks for the tip.

I'm working my way towards the 15,000 concurrent students Achievement (the one I shared a Solution for) and this may help me get up to the 30,000 or so eligible students I need.

Yeah no problem. I was using your solution on that one and I got really really close and for some reason I capped off around 14500 students. I'll need to take some time and tackle that one again.

To respong to mattball19090: I had the same a few minutes ago, then i made it a bit more extreme after saving:

Tuition fees: $112,896
Campus building upkeep: $9,018
Varsity Sports expenses: $3,000
Acedemid Staff Cost: $0
Policies: $0

Expenses: $12,018

It unlocked after a few seconds after unpausing. Good luck! :)

Sorry I just saw your comment brother! Let me know if you have any other issues with these.

Sometimes it's a little buggy and it doesn't register that proper amount of students and tuition.

Yeah I think this one is buggy for me!

5500 students in the campus
I have $115,954 in tuition fees and just over 65,000 in expenses, no policy’s on for the Campus, but for profit education activated for the city. It’s been like this for 2/3 in game years, and still no achievement!

Hey ElDylto,

You may need to try and delete the campus in it's entirety and create a fresh campus zone and remake it. Then unpause the game and that may help you get it to pop my friend.

Let me know what you find out!

13 dorms (399 students in each) = 5187
This should cover 5,000 in each campus and go for the 15,000 overall student chv

If you have the hadron collider you can select an option in the info panel that allows to shut off education for universities, so that you may use your own. It basically makes it so the hadron collider does elementary and high school education.

ive got a population of 288,597 all polices off for the campuses themselves but the for-profit education on haven't got the hadron collider built

break down of campus ( just 1 of them ( others are close to it tho ))
tuition fees £102,900
camus building upkeep £27,042
varsity sports expenses £17,500 ( losest it will go without deleting buildings)
academic staff cost £20,000 bare minimum
policies £0 (as got them all off )

total expenses £64,542

still not got the achievement adn cannot work out why not

I was respecting the condition and it seemed bugged.

Finally found out the solution thanks to reddit.

I unlocked it by:
  • reducing academic staff to 0
  • reducing varsity sports to 0
  • cancelled all policies.
Trophy popped immediately afterwards.
