How to unlock the Well Informed achievement in Cities: Skylines - Definitive Guide

At the time of writing this achievement requires the Snowfall DLC. This is because new info views were added with that DLC. With the required DLC bought, simply follow the normal achievement unlocking instructions:

In-game, without any other menus selected, bring up the menu by holding cn_Y. Select Info Views from the radial menu. Finally, use the cn_dpad to go through each of the different views.

Update on April 12th 2018: According to a commenter the achievement should now be attainable without owning the Snowfall DLC.

Thanks. That at least explains why it's not unlocking for me.

Was it patched as part of the update that just came out? I’ll edit the solution.

From the normal map view, press and hold Y to open the info menu. Select the "Info Views" option. Now, use the d-pad to move through all 20 different info views and the achievement should unlock.

I believe the achievement is actually referring to the "Info Views" menu that you can access after pressing Y. I had to open up that menu and go through each of the 20 different view modes.

This doesn't seem to work any more. I've gone through all info view tiles several times and nothing. People on PS4 have said that their trophy is glitched and you actually need to view the two additional tiles from the Snow DLC. I can't test it myself but it could be the same for Xbox One.

I’ll let you know if your theory works once I get the Snow DLC, I’m having the same issue.

So viewing the additional info panels for the snow DLC, it didn’t unlock for me. So I don’t know what’s up with this achievement.

Thanks for looking, I guess it must be glitched. What's odd is that people on the site are still unlocking it according to the recent winners. maybe it's only glitched for some.

I guess so, I even went through each tab on the views that had them, also there was one view you could press A and a separate window opened, I did all that and still nothing.

I finally bought the Snowfall DLC and after looking at the additional tiles the achievement unlocked. Not sure why it didn't work for you. I had to cycle through all the views including the ones that had two but it seemed to work.

I can also confirm that buying the Snowfall DLC is needed for this achievement. Finally popped after I downloaded it and looked at those two extra tiles.

To unlock the Well Informed trophy in Cities: Skylines, you will need to view all of the different info-view panels.

When you are in the game, hold cn_T to bring up the in radial menu. Go to the info "Info Views" option, and then use the D-pad to view each of the different items in there.

Once you have viewed them all, the trophy will unlock.

If you have any mods enabled, it will disable your ability to get achievements. If you have a city that you started using mods on, then that city is "dead". Your city must never have the taste of mods if you want achievements. I suggest having a separate city for achievements and naming it something so that you know to disable mods when playing on it.

This achievements is hilariously easy and takes less than a minute.

1) Click on the button in the very top left of your screen.

2) Click on every single button in the little window that pops up at least once.

That's it!

Some things to keep in mind:
- I tried doing this in a brand new game and all of those buttons were disabled. So, it looks like you'll gradually unlock them as things become available to you.
- If something is still disabled after a while of playing, try building things that have something to do with the button. (i.e., if you can't see the crime rates, try building at least one of each police building)

Apparently, although I haven't tested it myself, you need the 'Snowfall' DLC in order to earn this now.

I can confirm that I've tried every info-view panel without the Snowfall DLC without unlocking this.

That's really interesting. Did you make sure your city hasn't used mods? You'll know if the city is still valid by looking at it in the save files area. Your city should have a little gold trophy next to it if it's still valid.

I've gotten the base game and the Snowfall DLC and it still hasn't popped up. I believe one has got to have all the current "major" DLCs to unlock it (as of today: Snowfall, After Dark, Mass Transit, Natural Disasters).

There's a mod that allows you to get achievements with mods enabled. :)
