How to unlock the You Little Stalker! achievement in Cities: Skylines II - Definitive Guide

The "You Little Stalker!" achievement requires you to follow the life journey of a citizen from childhood to old age. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you achieve this:

  • 1. Identify a Child Citizen: Start by locating a child in your city. The easiest way to do this is to look around an elementary school, as children are often found in these areas (you can check for older children as it will be faster for them to grow adult).
  • 2. Follow the Citizen: Once you've identified a child, select them and click on the '+' icon located at the bottom of the panel. This action will allow you to follow the selected citizen's life path.
  • 3. Track Multiple Citizens: It's advisable to follow multiple children (around 15 is a good number) as some may move away or pass away before reaching old age. This increases your chances of successfully tracking a citizen from childhood to old age (I tracked 12 of them and only 2 was left when they reached senior).
  • 4. Monitor Progress: You can keep track of the citizens you're following through the "Followed Citizens" panel, which is the second icon on the bottom right of your screen.
  • 5. Play with high speed & best performance: Set up your graphics as low as possible and shut down other applications as the game speed depends of your computer speed.
This achievement will take some time to unlock (arround 6 to 7 in-game years), so make sure to play with the maximum speed. The speed also depends of your computer's performances, you can improve it by setting Graphics at the minimum in the options.

Here is a little math : 1 in-game month = 24 in-game hours. So 1 year is 288 in-game hours. 1 hour at max speed is arround 4 real-time minutes with low performance (depends of your performances). So one year is arround 19 real time hours... 9 in-game years are arround 133 hours.

With this guide you and a good computer, you could get this achievement in 25 hours (with 1h = 45s in real time).

Happy stalking!

How'd you unlock this in less than 40 hours of playtime?

It doesn't take 9 in-game years.
I followed some children when the game started (Jan 2023), and got the achievement at the end of 2029.

Lvx : I didn't unlock this achievement because it still take too many time. This guide will help those who don't understand how to do it but doesn't mean I did ;) (my children are only adult now).

Jiafei0018 : thanks for pointing that. Children could have been born before if you choose a child that almost have 1 heat. All the senior I checked was at least 9 years.
I'll add that you could choose an older child to get it faster.

Unlocked mine around 2031. The more populated my city got, the slower the timer got. Worth keeping in mind if you're *just* going for this achievement, make a small city. No bigger than 25k.

@pticode, my bad lol. Should've seen it showed locked.
I got it just now, Jan 2030 with a cim born in Jan 2023. Took way too much time.

The citizen I got mine with was born in June 2024 and achievement popped in June 2031 when they became a senior, so 7 years in-game time. My game took about 46 seconds for each in game hour at max speed so total time was 7 years * 12 months * 24 hours * 46 seconds = 92736 seconds = 25.76 hours (not including reverting my save a few times). Spent most of this time afk letting the game run in the background.
I was down to only 1 followed citizen towards the end of adult and he would randomly become homeless and leave even when he was happy, wealthy, and employed. Loading a previous autosave when he was still employed and letting it run from there would get him further each time.

It may be worth noting that the info panel with your tracked citizens does not update while it is open. It took exactly 7 years from birth to senior citizen. The achievement unlocked fine but I had to reopen the panel for it to show their new senior status!

A random tip, put a bunch of points into health. Help em get old as best you can. Focus on reducing pollution and keep happiness up.

Its likely super obvious because it's how you "succeed" at the game but yea. Health health health.

This one will take some time to do. I recommend starting as soon as you have your first citizens on the map.

Start by clicking buildings and finding a child and then select follow. Make sure you have several followed as some may die or move out of your city at some point.

You can check your followed citizens with the middle bottom right button.

It is about 1 year for child and teen. Adult is between 4 and 6 years. Mine ended up to about 5.5 years when the achievement popped.
