Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector

Yu Jin will first approach you in the kelp bar that can be found in the middle section of the spindle (the space station you'll arrive at after your flight from Hexport). The scene in which you meet him is triggered by filling the clock for being a known patron at the bar, which is done by ordering drinks there four times.

Yu Jin has a lead on an old space ship wreckage with something very valuable inside and he wants you to help investigate that. In return he offers to work for you on a permanent basis. He can be used as local crew on other missions in the same system, but he will only join you permanently (which is what you need for the achievement) if you resolve his contract first.

Accept his offer, resolve the contract and obviously decide to not kick him out after the shady stuff that went down in that mission and the achievement is yours.

I'm not sure whether you need to actually be succesful in his contract to make him join, since I succeeded in my first attempt. From how the story plays out, I assume that success is not required and he'll join you anyway. However, you'll need to be succesful in that contract to also get the achievement "the better crew".

To succeed in the mission, you'll need to win a race against a competing crew who'll arrive 2 cycles after you and need 3 cycles to find the target vault. You'll need to explore both the wreckages and the damaged shuttle to get there, but you can ignore the asteroid surface. Exploring that one will only earn you additional scrap and can be done after the main objective is resolved. Playing as an operator, I had no problems to do it with Bliss and Yu-Jin in my crew, but if you play as a sleeper who isn't proficient in interface, you should get a crew member who can cover this before you do that mission.
