Mutually exclusive to recruiting Luis:
The Secret Achievement achievement in Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector worth 133 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement
For either one, you'll need to have picked up Yu-Jin in the Far Spindle by buying 4 drinks at the bar and taking on his contract.
Later, when you arrive at The Hollow, Yu-Jin will direct your toward the markets where you'll meet Luis and the Singers. Following this encounter, you'll get Yu-Jin's next contract to find the fraction drive.
Once you reach the third stage of the contract, there will be a standoff where you can either back Yu-Jin up or abandon him. For this achievement, choose either option that supports Yu-Jin and not the 'abandon' option. Either way it plays out, if you support him you'll get the achievement. If you abandon him, you will not.

There's a little bit more to it than just choosing to support him in the final stage, you'll also have to pass the skill checks during the scene this time (Engage if you try to talk down Yu Jin and cooperate with the Singers, Endure in a second step when you tell the Singers to back off.) Unlike many other occasions in the game, where rolling a bad skill check in a scene will only make you take some harm (stress), but you still manage to achieve your goal, failing the skill check in this scene actually leads to a different outcome and makes you lose Yu Jin.
If you fail the skill check, you will be able to recruit Luis after your return to the hollow for the other mutually exclusive achievement, so I recommend trying to save Yu Jin on your first playthrough, in case you need more than one attempt.

By the way: If you get a bad result on the check, you can quit out and retry if you go to the pause menu and reload before the scene is finished, autosave should happen only when you return to the contract location
