First, gain access to the Greenway (pay 60 cryo to access LowEnd, followed by 150 cryo to cross Founder's Gap). The icon for Hypha Commune (three dots in a circle) is available after crossing into the Greenway. Repeat Engage action "Work the Canteen" and/or Endure action "Work the Growbeds" enough times to fill the "Hypha Member" wheel. Achievement will unlock after filling the wheel.

Another achievement that you will likely unlock during story progressions. After paying to unlock the ferry to the greenway, there will be multiple blips to interact with. There are achievements tied to mushrooms/Riko the Botanist here as well. One of the last blips before "the waste" will give you the opportunity to work on the commune and unlock another safehouse
