You actually don't have to. I beat the level without ever turning into sheep Clyde.

To earn this one, you need to turn into a Sheep-Clyde. You do this by finding a DNA-combining machine, placing a sheep on one of its platforms and yourself on the other platform, and pressing 
(B) to activate it.
You can do this very early in the game, in Trial 4: Hand Me That Pipewrench. The trials are located right after the training level when you start. If you bypass the trials and go straight to the levels proper, you can get this in Level 3: Polar Pleasure.
Many of these machines have a lever next to them that will give you the appropriate item to combine with Clyde (in this case a sheep). Activate the lever by pressing (B) while standing at it. If the combining item doesn't land on the platform, stand at the item and press (B) to pick it up, move to the platform, and press 
or 
(down on the left stick or D-pad) to drop it.
