Do you happen to know if progress for the pneumatic tube messages saves automatically in the same way that the collectibles does? I used this guide to pick up the ones I thought I missed, but quit out of each chapter after the fact, and the achievement didn't pop.

The Tube Messages saves in the same way the collectibles does. I missed the Pneumatic in Chapter 9. Got it after repeat the chapter instantly.

Some additional information - they all need to be collected in a single playthrough (context: i had collected a few, and then accidentally started a new game - my previous collections did not carry over). After collecting each tube, I immediately went back to the Main menu and loaded up the next chapter with a tube to collect. All told, the 8 took me about 30 mins to load up each chapter and collect them.

So does that mean we can pick it up and then quit the level? No need for a full run?
Edit: self confirmed, yeah can quit after having them.

So you can use Chapter Select, but you can't use Start New Game as that will void all the tubes?
