How to unlock the Conifer Forest achievement in Clouds & Sheep 2 - Definitive Guide
So I tested this on a second account using Xbox Series X and it still worked and unlocked the achievement just fine, but I'll leave a warning from one person saying it didn't work for them.
WORD OF WARNING, ShazamFTW commented "But it appears this trick no longer works. I've now tried it a couple different times, and I'm confident I've followed things to a tee, but no movement on the percentages. I was at 60%, did the 10, cleared local save, reloaded, still at 60%.
Here's the awful part. Just decided I'd finish it the hard way, planted my 10 trees, still at 60%. I believe the tracking is now jacked up as a result of this. Maybe it's the danger of playing the game on a Series X, but I believe following this just screwed my tracking altogether. Hard rebooted just to make sure it wasn't a reporting issue, but two cycles of 10, and I'm still at 60%."
This is a method I found to speed this achievement up exponentially. I'll first touch on a few things to help set this up, but if you want just the solution it will be at the bottom. I recommend reading it all though, in case there are some helpful things you were unaware of. First off, as stated in the other solution, the conifer is unlocked after expanding your border and finding it in the snow level and they cost 6 stars and 8 flower petals.
I would saving this for last and just planting them as needed along the way towards finishing the fountain of youth quest, but that is entirely up to you.
Gaining stars - I found that if you allow your sheep to max out on their wool, where they look super fluffy and have the curly hairs sticking off, then they won't get cold or mad or have any desires to keep them happy other than food and water. So get 10 sheep, don't shear them, and fill the screen with water and grass and you will have an easier time filling stars.
Gaining flower petals - So clicking the flowers when they sparkle will only give you 3 petals per flower. But most, if not all, of the time they can feed 2 sheep per flower. Doing this and then mating them produces a heart. If you leave the heart alone for a little bit it will turn into 5 petals, almost doubling the value of each flower. So just constantly mate the sheep and get the petals that way. You can spend some stars (I think 8) to plant 2 flowers, but I just used the ones that popped up on their own.
Time for the trees! - Now for the fun part. Using the methods above, stock up stars and flower petals to their full capacity without spending any. I set my limit to 60 stars and 80 petals, the equivalent of 10 trees. This is one reason I suggest waiting until the end, but again it's your choice.
Once you are stocked up, quit the game, force close it, and restart it to make sure your cloud save is updated. Now, go into your game and plant as many of the trees as you can. After you have spent all of your resources hit the button, scroll down to the Clouds and Sheep tile, press , scroll down to manage game and add-ons. Select that and scroll down to saved data. Select your save file (it should just be your gamertag. not the reserved space.) Now delete from console only!
This will force close the game. Start the game back up and it will sync with your cloud save, which will give you all of your stars and flowers back. Just repeat this process until the achievement pops. It make this achievement much easier since it just takes one time setting it up and then a minute or less for each time you delete and restart.
Enjoy!

Huge time saver ... thanks for the guide. Just in time when the game was really starting to get really grindy.

Glad to help. I know I didn't feel like grinding out all those damn trees.

you can find the conifer tree by expanding the snow level a few times.
it cost 6 star's 8 hearts to buy one tree.

Probably because they aren't hearts they are petals but they look like hearts so they are just being fickle. Good solution, ty.

Potentially very grindy achievement unless you start working on it at the earliest possible opportunity (expand the Winter pasture).

This one is the grind. Once you unlock the Conifer tree in the winter level after expanding your land a few times, try to ONLY plant this one for timber and not the other trees. This is the only tree tied to an achievement.
