A 97% of the game's save AFTER you duplicate the green orb you will move between portals and where you placed the green orb. If you're carrying the orb while flying up a portal you won't go anywhere.you will use a flyer/drone to unlock two barriers. one after getting the drone and one right before the Moon Ancestor location.. drop the orb into the pipe and teleport to it from the last portal you jumped.

Cocoon has 11 total collectibles known as Moon Ancestors. These can be acquired as you play through the game, or easily mopped up using chapter select once you finish the story. They are most often hidden just off the main path; may involve a small and simple puzzle, and are unlocked with an interaction.
At 97%, use the symbols to grab the light buddy to leave the area. Head back and to the top where the trap will destroy your light aid. Place your orb at the end of the bridge, respawn the light, and teleport to the green orb. Bring your orb to the next area, and instead of taking the shirting pillar, throw the orb down the hidden pipe. Backtrack to the teleport and find yourself in a new area finding your final moon ancestor.

This Moon Ancestor can be found at the 97% mark.
This is another one that's really easy to miss. I believe this checkpoint sets you right where you obtain the final flying bug. Input the symbols to get it (indicated by the reflections in the water from left to right), then head back to the right with it. Continue on like normal to the area with the bug trap, getting your bug past it (let it get caught as you take the green orb past it, place the orb on the holder, go back and get your bug, then use the warp pad to warp to the green orb, which is past the trap). Lower the pillars with your bug and proceed up like normal. Now, before proceeding up the gas column, head up to the top of this platform and you'll find a tube to drop the green orb into. Do so, then return back to the warp pad you used before, near the trap. Warp to the green orb, and head up to find this Ancestor.
