How to unlock the Exalted Reputation achievement in CODE VEIN - Definitive Guide

As of Patch 1.2 the Tower of Trials has been added which is now a very effective way of farming the 400 Medals needed for this achievement without the need of another player. The Tower of Trials will become available after defeating the final boss at least once. There will be an item called "Depths Tower of Trials" on Louis' desk back at the Home Base. After picking up the item, you will need to talk to Davis (right across from Louis' desk) to access the Tower of Trials for the first time, afterwards you can teleport to the tower from any Mistle. The Tower of Trials has three different maps, but for the sake of this achievement, it's advisable to only play 'Tower of Trials I'.

The Tower is made up of six floors and the enemies here are stronger versions of enemies that you will have already encountered in the main game. The enemies on floors 1-3 are weak against fire attacks and the enemies on floors 4-6 are weak against ice attacks so be sure to come prepared.

Each floor has a chance of rewarding consumables or Medals on clear. On floors 3 and 6, you will fight bosses that are guaranteed to drop Medals on their defeat.

Floor 1: 20% Chance for 1 Medal on clear.
Floor 2: 20% Chance for 1 Medal on clear.
Floor 3: Guaranteed 2 Medals on clear.
Floor 4: 20% Chance for 2 Medals on clear.
Floor 5: 20% Chance for 2 Medals on clear.
Floor 6: Guaranteed 4 Medals on clear.

So at worst, fully clearing 'Tower of Trials I' is guaranteed to reward you with 6 Medals each time, and at best you could earn up to 12 medals in one run. If you die partway through the tower, you still keep your medals, but you will have to start from the first floor again. My average time for a full clear is around 7 minutes making this a very fast alternative if you can consistently clear the tower.

The best part of using the tower to farm Medals is the lack of loading screens. There is no loading between the floors of the tower and dying or using an item or gift to return to the Mistle at the top only takes a few seconds and completely resets the tower, allowing you to farm basically non-stop. This significantly cuts down the amount of downtime from the other Depths methods as there is no need to return to the Home Base to reload the instance and no time spent connecting to other players.

Using the Tower of Trials to farm Medals is a more difficult method, but it's arguably faster and doesn't require any co-op or online play.

In co-op you get 3 medals for floor 3 and 7 medals for floor 6. There is also the same odds and drops for floors 1,2,4,5

Excellent solution.

So the easiest way to earn a medal is to beat a boss in multiplayer. A boss counts as anything that has it's name above a red HP bar. So the depths maps is the best place to farm since they're multiple bosses that drop medals on one map.

Currently the best map to farm on is Misty Ruins. Doing all my grinding with randoms, this was by far the most used depths map. This is due to it being one of the two maps that has five bosses on the map. The other is silent white and since it has the two boreal brutes as one of the bosses it's a headache. The main boss is Successor of the Throat, which is a stationary boss with a predictable moveset. You have to earn 400 medals, so running a map that gives you 5 per run means running the map 80 times. Running a map that will drop 3 medals means you have to run it 134 times and a four boss map is ran 100 times. To refresh the bosses in the depths map you will have to go back to home base and reload the depths map. So reducing the amount of times you have to reload the map and connect to a partner is going to speed up the achievement process. If you need to figure out how to get the map, there is a great guide under the all depths maps achievement.

I stop-watched 10 runs on Misty Ruins. My best time was 4 minutes and 55 seconds and my worst time was 5 minutes and 21 seconds for a five medal run starting from the mistle. So for easy math at 5 minutes and 30 seconds a run, it will take you 7 hours and 20 minutes to do all 80 runs before factoring in reloading the map and connecting to a partner. With these included your looking at least 9 hours.

It will be faster to boost this with a partner than with randoms. So it would be best to have a partner or set up boosting sessions to make this easier. You can use a password when searching for signals, so this will help you and your partner find each other quickly or use the invite friend method. Have you and your partner load in the map, then match with each other. You can run your map and then his map. After, if you both reload the depths map from home base you only have to refresh the map 40 times.

Tips for speeding running Misty Ruins:

1. Sprint past all the enemies and head straight to each boss door. As long as your holding the sprint button most of the attacks will miss and if it looks like it will connect just roll. The enemies will stop following you at the beginning of the long path to each boss. They actually turn around and start walking back once they hit this point. So you can stop in front of the boss entrance and apply buffs without worrying about being hit in the back and coming out of the boss they will not be in front of the tunnel. It might be a good idea for the host to run to each boss and then have the second person teleport with the Needle Of Unity.

2. This should be obvious but the more times you enhance the difficulty the longer and harder this achievement will be. I would grind these out before enhancing the difficulty if you plan on completing the game. I played with someone who enhanced the game three times, and even with optimal builds you can still die from a couple hits from just trash mobs. Bosses can one shot you with ease.

3. Speed running will be about DPS. They're two abilities in the game that greatly increase damage to the point it is game breaking. These are Final Journey and Bridge to Glory. You have to use the Queenslayer code for Final Journey and buff your mind stat with passives to use Bridge to Glory.

Final Journey-Massive increase to DPS as well as movement. You will have quick dodge no matter the weight of your weapon. This means quick dodges with Great Swords! Only downside is after three minutes you will die unless you touch a mistle or beat a boss ;) . So just activate this in front of the boss and you'll have plenty of time.

Bridge to Glory- This is the only attack buff in the game that has scaling. It scales with your light rating. Equip a maxed out Noble Silver blood veil (highest light rating in game) and your damage will sky rocket.

4. Make sure one of your passives is weapon mastery for the weapon you are using, this is also a major DPS increase.

I would suggest using the last boss great sword as your weapon once you beat the game. However you can use any weapon that your comfortable with. As long as you use the two abilities above you will melt the bosses.

Hope this helps, feedback appreciated. I will check the comments section so any questions or concerns feel free to comment.

If you're like me and you don't have anyone to partner up with to run through the Depths and taking on an entire Tower is difficult and time-consuming, then you're in for a treat with this guide.

According to the Code Vein wiki, one specific enemy on the first floor of the Tower of Trials II has around a 20% chance of dropping a Mark of Honor on defeat. When you first open the first floor, the Executioner Monk-type enemy is the main goal.

For myself, I found the best way to do this would be to buff yourself as much as possible to take it out in one hit, and then use the Mistle Root to teleport back up to the mistle and repeat. Using this process, I was able to get 82 Marks in about 4 hours.

My build doing this is as follows:
Weapon: Argent Wolf King's Blade Fortification +10
Blood Veil: Night Claw Fortification +1
Blood Code: Prometheus
Passives:
Strength/Dexterity Up (increase the attack power of your item using Strength)
Revenant's Hunger (increases the amount of haze gained from defeating enemies to gain levels quickly at the same time)
Two-Handed Sword Mastery
Revenant's Greed (increases the chances of item's dropped from enemies)

Active:
Adrenaline (increase attack power)
Flashing Fang (increase power of next attack)
Overdrive (increase attack power)
Blow of Madness (increase power of next attack)
Merciless Reaper (ignores some of the enemies physical and weapon defense)
Night Fog Veil (conceals you from enemies)
Blood Sacrifice (use HP to gain Ichor)

My main strategy, again, is to buff myself with Adrenaline, Flashing Fang, Overdrive, Blow of Madness, and Merciless Reaper (using Blood Sacrifice as needed to get more Ichor), then finishing off with Night Fog Veil. I then drop down, run up to the enemy on the right, hit it with one attack (I prefer the heavy attack, but it's up to you) and it drops. As soon as it's gone, use the Mistle Root item to teleport back up to the Mistle and repeat.

Let me know if you use this and what you think and if you have any suggestions.

20 medals an hour is my rate too. A run takes around 30 seconds with loading. Total around 20 hours for this achievement alone. But still easier than trying to clear the tower over and over again.

Going solo for this achievement is a massive grind, but for speed and ease, this solution worked best for me. The key is using Night Fog Veil (NFV) to get in a free hit and then be able to use the Mistle Root to teleport back to the Mistle.

Without NFV I was dropping into the arena and fighting ... usually dying but getting the Mark carrier as often as not. Terrible experience mostly from the amount of time it took. Again, NFV was a game-changer.

Other recommendations:
- When you drop into the hole, have your Mistle Root on the quick-use bar ... just make things as fast as possible
- For your build, find the fewest possible buffs required to kill the Mark carrier (the guy on the right); experiment ... you'll be doing this enough that a few seconds saved will be a notable savings of time when all is done
- Use Torment Blasting for a free double-hit. It's free because NFV makes you invisible and you stay invisible.
- TB should be a one-hit kill ... if not, you will still be invisible so take another whack
- Be quick: NFV doesn't last very long
- If you have Mistle Root on the quick-use bar, teleport back to the Mistle, rinse, repeat

[3-23-2022]
OK ... I did a bit more testing and was able to get this run to about as efficient as I think it can get.

Weapon: Argent Wolf King Blade +10
Blood Code: Prometheus
Blood Veil: Night Claw +1

Passives
- Strength
- Strength/Dexterity
- Two-handed Sword Mastery
- Revenant's Greed

After opening access to the enemies, use
- Flashing Fang ... buffs your next hit
- Night Fog Veil ... makes you invisible for ~30 seconds

This will use 12 of your 20 Ichor ... you do NOT need to use additional buffs or refill your Ichor.
Drop into the hole and run to the enemy on the right (Executioner-Monk?). I started out targeting him but found out if I kept the stick pointed toward him, I could avoid actually targeting him. This literally saved me a button click but it's still a savings.

Once you're close enough, use Tormenting Blast (TB). The first hit didn't kill him, but TB executes two hits, so the second one finished him off.

At that point he's dead and has either dropped a Mark or not, you should still be invisible, and should then use the Mistle Root (which should be active on your consumables bar because you do NOT need to restore your Ichor or boost your health) and get back to do it again.

This technique allowed me roughly 87 Marks in two hours, but I was intent on avoiding any delays in clicks or unnecessary movements.

At launch, (the time of this writing) this is best done in online co op with the Den of the Dead Depths map. It will require 400 medals to reach rank 30. Depending on skill, efficiency, level, etc, I estimate anywhere from 10-12 hours to hit rank 30. Your progress for the medals can be viewed in the "pause" menu by tabbing over to medals. The map can be found right after defeating Oliver Collins. If you're teleporting there, it's Ruined City Underground to Outer Cross Roads. Shang will appear close to the mistle (you can speak with him for the Den of Darkness map), but immediately to his left if you run down the alley and take a left, the Den of the Dead map will be a shiny mark laying on the ground in plain sight. The process is to summon your partner at the mistle in the depths, and run through all 3 bosses. 2 are mini bosses, but you will both receive medals for defeating them. The boss behind the door is Oliver Collins, again. As soon as you beat him, let your friend summon you into his world, and repeat this process. After this time, you will both return home to Davis to reset the area. In short, 2 runs = 6 medals each, then reset. There are other maps that will give you an opportunity at killing 4 or 5 bosses each run, but they are much, much longer to run, and in theory, the bosses are more difficult. Happy grinding!

Are you, like me, tired of struggling to get a single partner to team up with you for those coveted Marks of Honor? Are you also incredibly inconsistent when going through the Tower of Trials, where sometimes you breeze through all floors and other times you get annihilated on the 2nd floor, like me?

How's invincibility sound?

With the build I'm going to describe, you can basically cheese through boss battles (and probably most of the game). This becomes extremely useful when you consider the Tower of Trials III will award a minimum of 10 medals for full completion (2 for the first boss, 8 for the final boss). This build will basically ensure you can go through the boss fights with little effort.

First, credit goes to u/ogopogo1109, who showed this build in action in this Reddit post (linked) and basically saved my sanity:
https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/e96y3r/my_disappo...
A written description of which Gifts are being activated and in which order will be below.

Link to the full build (Weapon, Blood Veil, Code, Gifts, etc.):
https://sethclydesdale.github.io/code-vein-builder/?build=II...
If you want a more written-out description of the above link, then keep reading.

**Keep in mind that this build requires the Mia: White Version DLC, and requires Gifts from 10 different Codes, so this may be more end-game for most as you will have to maximize proficiency in all of the listed Gifts in order to use them on different Codes**

1. Weapon: Argent Wolf King's Blade Fortification +10 - you get this weapon after defeating the Skull King (Final Boss).

2. Blood Veil: GXL Defender Fortification +10 - can be received randomly. Or in Provisional Government Center, near the end of the area (Connecting Bridge Mistle). Facing away from the elevator next to the Io-lookalike, go straight. There will be a room to the left that contains a low area and ladders. It will be in the chest on the other side of the room. At this location it's auto-upgraded to +9 already.

3. Blood Code: Queen's Breath - you receive this by NOT restoring Nicola's memories after defeating the Successor of the Breath.

4. Active Gifts (with Blood Code): Dragon Lunge (Berserker), Tormenting Blast (Atlas), Adrenaline (Fighter), Blood Sacrifice (Hunter), Gift Extension (Astrea - DLC), Bridge to Glory (Eos), Royal Heart (Berkserker), Juggernaut (Queen's Breath)

5. Passive Gifts (with Blood Code): Strength/Willpower Up (Scathatch), Dexterity/Fortitude Up (Heimdall), Two-handed Sword Mastery (Atlas), Survival Instinct (Hades).

6. Companion: Mia: White Version (DLC)

The main idea with this build is to buff yourself while bringing your health down with Blood Sacrifice to the point where you will basically get one-shot by the boss (usually around 600hp ish). Once you get killed, Mia (White Version) will revive you and buff your defenses. Once revived, activate Juggernaut, and now you're invincible (for as long as those buffs last)!

So basically, activate:
1. Gift Extension
2. Blood Sacrifice
3. Royal Heart
4. Blood Sacrifice
5. Bridge to Glory
6. Blood Sacrifice
7. Adrenaline
8. Blood Sacrifice (if able)
Then, die as quick as possible (the quicker you die, the quicker Mia will revive you before getting smacked by the enemy)
9. Juggernaut

In the context of Tower of Trials specifically, I found using only the damage boosts for Floors 1, 2, 4, and 5, and activating all of the Gifts above just for the bosses worked really well to clear all floors quickly.

Multiplayer in Code Vein while similar to Dark Souls summoning for boss fights is actually a little simple to pull off. Reputation is earned through items called marks of honor that are earned for defeating bosses and MINI BOSSES with an online partner. You can be either the host or the summon to earn the marks so no putting your sign down and praying summon comes along and picks you.

The best method to farm the staggering 400 medals for this trophy is done in the depths maps (repeatable maps with minibosses and bosses to farm materials) and simply send out a distress signal as soon as you load in and when a player arrives rush the minibosses and boss you are most comfortable with or search for a distress signal in the depths and wait to be called. This way you earn as many as 4 marks of honor in one session with a player. (Note that you can set a lobby with a password and you and a friend can also repeat this) The most popular depths maps are the first three you obtain due to how easy they are to complete speed wise and there you will be earning 3 marks at a time. As of writing this guide I have 100 marks from random sessions and while a little slow is fun. Definitely grab a friend if you want it to go as little faster.

First and foremost, update 1.20 in January 2020 introduced the Tower of Trials, which provides both offline and online players a better way to farm Mark of Honor medals. Please refer to my Tower of Trials guide on PST.org:

Tower of Trials Guide Part 1
Tower of Trials Guide Part 2

Your reputation in this game can only be raised by collecting Mark of Honors. Unfortunately you need 400 of them for rank 30, which will be a colossal grind. While this achievement can be farmed offline at a very abysmal rate, you will want to go online for this if possible. This is because every boss defeated in online co-op grants a Mark of Honor. Combine this with various depths maps and you can easily farm 50+ medals an hour. I recommend the Misty Ruins map because there are 5 bosses and they can killed pretty quickly. Here is a video of me farming the Misty Ruins with a random partner:

Once you have defeated all bosses, travel back to Home Base and speak with Davis again to reset them. While multiplayer is the way to go for these medals, they are farmable. Below are some places you can get them. If you are set on farming these, make sure to equip the passive that increases drop rate. It is called Revenant Greed and can be learned from the Hermes blood code.

Cathedral of Sacred Blood – Outlook Tower mistle. From here, head into the area and turn right. Follow the spiral staircase down and the path will come to a split. You will see an ominous black knight to the left and another spiral staircase to the right. Head right and look under the stairs, behind a shielded female lost. The Mark is hidden amongst the boxes. You can grab this once on every playthrough.

Provisional Government Center – Entrance Mistle. As you head into the area (right path, left is a dead end) you will eventually need to go down a ramp where two bayonet lost and a large woman lost are waiting for you. Go past them and keep an eye out for breakable objects to your left. There is a Mark of Honor tucked in a hidden area here. Once again, you can grab this once per playthrough.

Elite Knight Lost: There are only a few of these in the game but they respawn after killing them. One can be found in the same location of Cathedral mentioned above (left path takes you to this guy). One is located in the City of Fallen Flame near Scathach Vestige Part B. There is also one right in front of the dog tag door in Ashen Cavern and seems to be the friendliest place to farm. For this, you can run back and forth between the Accumulator Ruins and dog tag door (that leads to City of the Fallen Flame). Lastly, you can find a few throughout Crypt Spire, including the first enemy you run into there. Here is a screenshot of an Elite Knight Lost, courtesy of my friend Spooky on Discord:

Argent Knight Lost: You can find plenty of these enemies in the Provisional Government Center. They wield various weapons but all of them have a very low chance to drop a Mark of Honor upon defeat. The fastest farm method for these guys is to boot up the Connecting Bridge mistle and head backwards into the level. There are many Argent Knights here, which can be killed quickly. Don't forget to put on Revenant Greed to increase drop rate. Here is a screenshot of an Argent Knight Lost, courtesy of my friend Spooky on Discord:

Here's my video guide:

BUILD

Partner: Jack
Weapons: Argent Wolf Blade (Fortification), Iceblood (Fortification)
Blood Veil: Noble Silver (Alleviation)

A. Blood Code: Ishtar
Passives: Swift Destruction, Strength/Dexterity Up, Two-handed Sword Mastery, Revenant's Ambition

Active: Supernatural Blood, Blood Weapon, Flame Weapon, Lightning Weapon, Adrenaline, Bridge to Glory, Overdrive, Hasten

B. Blood Code: Queenslayer
Passives: Swift Destruction, Mind/Willpower Up, Two-handed Sword Mastery, Revenant's Ambition

Active: Supernatural Blood, Adrenaline, Bridge to Glory, Hasten, Final Journey, Flame Protection, Fatal Surge, Dragon Lunge

NOTES

If you are missing some of the gear, that's ok. Give it a shot and tweak as needed. If you are still struggling, then do another playthrough and get what you need (assuming you still need to do other playthroughs for other endings).

Level 1 - if you drop down in right spot, you'll 1-hit kill the enemy. Easy!

Level 2 - the unarmed enemies should be priority as they attack faster than the one's with swords. But either way, it's important and easy, to dodge attacked. When the mini-boss comes out, focus on him above all else before he fully spawns in.

Level 3 - drop down, get the hits you need to build up your icor to do dragon lunge. back off and be outside the blast radius of the poison attack but line up directly facing the boss. Take a step forward and do dragon lunge, this should force the boss to power up. Just keep swinging and it should go down before it gets its next attack off. If it looks like you won't kill it before that next attack, just dodge and go back in with another dragon lunge.

Level 4 - have iceblood equipped. Dodge the initial attack and backstab if you can but if not, just keep wailing until it goes down. You may need to dodge another attack but with time, you'll get the hang of it.

Level 5 - you should be able to knock out 1 enemy before the other 2 attack. Avoid the sword enemies for last since they attack the fastest. When the mini-boss spawns in, focus on it and ideally it'll die before it can even finish spawning or do it's first attack.

Level 6 - the hardest part of this is timing the dodging. There are 2 different first attacks it'll do: throwing flame projectiles or lunge attack with follow up swing hit. Ideally it does the latter as it's easier to dodge (with practice). If flame projectiles, just try to dodge and towards the boss as quickly as possible. Get in enough hits to do dragon lunge. Back off as the boss powers up, finish off with iceblood.

The best place to farm tags is in the depths: Misty Ruins. For 1 run, 5 marks, and, as an option, White Silence, but there are armored trolls there, so it’s better still in the ruins. The time is about 12-15 hours and I advise you to do it as soon as you find the depth map data, because after a while you will get into it They will stop playing and won’t be able to get this trophy.

After the update, it is possible to farm signs solo .
After completing the game, Louis' table will contain maps of the depths of the Tower of Challenges. They will give signs for bosses and more, even if you go through alone. However, for co-op they give twice as many signs. I advise you to go through Test Tower I, it is easier and faster than the others. For one run in co-op we get about 10 +- signs.

An extremely unpleasant task. In my opinion, it is best to farm on the depth map "Rusty Cliffs". There are 4 easy bosses and it’s not far to run to each one. I farmed there.

The Misty Depths map is located in the Crypt Tower location. I achieved a little over 200 medals there with a friend, this event took 7 hours -_-

After the New Year's update it became SO much easier. Now you can earn 10-15 medals per run at Challenge Tower 1. On the test tower 3 - 10-18. I don't recommend the second one. It's tedious and difficult. Medals drop there even in solo, but it’s easier with two people =) The only thing here is that you need to earn medals after completing at least the second one. Otherwise it's too hardcore. at level 200+ there are no problems in co-op

If you farm solo according to the hint above with killing the first mob in the second tower, then use Louis as a partner - when teleporting to the mistletoe, he uses gifts and gives a boost to damage by as much as ~600 attack. with the required build, as in the video, the mob flies away with 1 additional attack, and not with two, if this is done without a partner. just saving time. Maybe someone else gives such a buff, I haven’t checked. but Io definitely doesn’t give it.

Video guide (en) Depths. Test Tower II. The point is to one-shot (kill as quickly as possible) the first enemy from whom the mark drops with a probability of more than 30% and teleport back.
I also recommend using this method in Challenge Tower I.
If you are on a PC, then lower all graphics settings to speed up loading.
Video guide (en) Builds for quickly clearing any of the three towers. - With this build the grind took about 6 hours.

400 icons, at first glance it would seem like a lot, and at second and third glance.
The tactic is to teleport to the Foggy Depths, there are 5 bosses = 5 medals, we always call for help! The fastest way (if helping someone is not a fact that he is on the same map and did not call you for 1 boss).
In order not to go crazy while you are farming this whole thing, you can listen to some kind of stream, audiobook, etc. in the background. and divide the approaches, I did 10 a day, which is 50 icons.
PS. At the same time, you will level up there to level 200+ in order to speed up all the endings.
