How to unlock the Gilded Hunter achievement in CODE VEIN - Definitive Guide
I can only give you a few tips if you're having trouble with this boss:
- Make sure to use a blood code that allows you to use a Greatsword. Any other type of weapons might work but it'll be easier for you to kill him with this. Work a bit around with your scaling and make sure to upgrade your weapon beforehand. I suggest using the Atlas or the Fighter blood code. If it's your first time using a GS I'd recommend fighting some minions to get used to it!
- At some point during the fight he will go to his second phase, you'll notice him going berserk and his movement speeds up. I suggest to NOT try and fight him during this phase as he barely leaves any window open for you to attack. I also do not suggest dodging all of his attacks and learn to block when needed. I've helped countless of players online and keep noticing they're trying to fight him during this phase, which all led to their death.
- Make sure to stay close to him during his 2nd phase, which might seem dangerous. This phase only lasts for about half to a minute and he will be tired out. This is your time to hit him, which is why I suggest closing in on him as you don't need to sprint towards him, losing maybe 2 extra hits and some stamina. Make sure to also use some slashing abilities.
- If you're on low health when he's tired out, don't try and heal. You'll give him enough time to go berserk again and you won't survive.
- For a companion I suggest using Yakumo.
If all else fails you can always ask for me, or anyone else through distress signal for some help. Good luck!

This is a pretty good guide, reading it after defeating the Gilded Hunter yesterday. Fighter/Yakumo was how I went at it as well.
Two things that I would add:
-Ice damage: by this point in the game you should have the cross code passive that adds frost damage to your attacks, used this as the hunter takes increased frost damage. You can also transform your weapon to have added frost damage. *Don't use a frost cartridge, it has a very low up time and won't be easily renewable during the fight.
-Make use of Blood Barrier Tonic or the Fighter ability that grants blood resistance. This should be popped before starting the fight, it lasts a while, if at some point you need to refresh it, do it when the boss is attacking your companion

In this video guide I will show you how to defeat the Gilded Hunter in the Ashen Cavern. Now this fight can be a real pain. I used the Queenslayer blood code, and as always the Cleansing Light with Final Journey. It is a must you keep the Cleansing Light active as best you can. Also hasten is a pretty good ability to dodge his attacks. He has some pretty nasty one shot moves. I used Io for this fight which seemed ok.
This guys attacks are wild and all over the place. He will have really good range and distance to hit you. He has a jumping twirling attack that will close the gap between you and him fast. So be sure to dodge behind him if you can. He also tends to use projectiles when he swings. So don't think just because he missed with his weapon your safe, watch out for the projectiles afterwards. He also has a lunge attack he will use from time to time. Once you get him halfway he will use a casting ability to have orbs fall from the ceiling at you. So watch where they are coming from and dodge. Once he is defeated the achievement will pop.
