the tutorials are accessed by pressing the Start icon on the main screen, then pressing the Graduation Cap icon in the top right. at first i was unable to enter the tutorials, getting a message saying "Tutorial is not available with current control settings." go into the settings, which is the Gear icon in the top right on the first screen, then pick either Keyboard or Virtual D-Pad. the tutorials do not work with Accelerometer, Mouse, or Joystick.
Heads-Up Display and Interface is the first tutorial of 7. only the first 5 tutorials need to be completed for achievements and they can be done in any order.
this tutorial is very simple and pretty much just requires you to click through the messages, but it will ask you to change the camera views a bit.

From the "Play" menu, click on the mortar board to go to the tutorials menu. Play through the "Heads Up Display and Interface tutorial for this one. It is pretty straightforward and should take no longer than a few minutes.
