I had an easy time using Mom for this. Simply use the varmint rifle to snipe unaware enemies and proceed carefully. Clear out everything you safely can so nothing sneaks up behind you.
For the boss, stay away and use a gun with high piercing. This lets you hit the boss through the slaves while keeping yourself away from the whip. Varmint rifle can work but a heavy ammo rifle works much better.
