How to unlock the Violence Solves Everything achievement in Comic Jumper - Definitive Guide

Once you have beaten the game, gotten all the other achievements, and replayed to your fill, you should be most of the way there. To get the rest:

Load up Adventures of Captain Smiley Challenge 1
Shoot the first Bradbot that jumps out of the window
Tape or weight down the right trigger
Turn off the TV and come back every 5 to 10 minutes to check progress.

another level that will be usable is 2-3 (the 3rd comic from the silver age, i can't remember it's name or issue #)

it is rumoured that the "He Ain't Even Married" is for not getting hit during the benny fight, unfortunately, this appears to be glitched at the moment, however, in my attempts to pull it off i racked up 20,000 shots

only another 20,000 to go...

No doubt the best solution. I finished the game and unlocked all other possible achievements and I had around 75k shots fired. After 1 hour and something of BFBC2, I only had around 109k. It really takes some time to shoot that much.

I did about 25,000 shots in about 50 mins last night.

I'd estimate from this that it's probably 600 shots a minute (there are bits on level 1 where you can't shoot throwing the calculations off - I didn't think to use the challenge) so that should give you a rough idea of how long to leave the rubber band on for.

@rdfreeman33 The achievement pops while playing, shortly after hitting 125,000 shots.

What's with the negative vote? This is the easiest way to get the achievement!

Probably someone doesn't like shortcuts (rubber banding). That's why I stopped watching Survivor, people vote in the stupidest ways...

With maxxed everything (though I don't know whether it makes a difference), it seems to work out to around 500 shots per minute. That's over 4 straight hours of nothing but shooting. *sheesh*

Got about 27 more minutes to go before I get it...

don't have this game, but I love The Maw and Splosion man so I've been considering getting it. Probably wait and see if it hits a sale.

Anyways people vote negative no matter what, some guides (no matter how well written or accurate) have negative votes that cannot be explained, I don't have the game but if I did I'd give you a positive vote for it.

ya, it could also be from a person who's thinking "hey look, no one's voted down yet, that means I get to be 1st, that means I'm special" :P lol oh ya kid, you are reeeeal special... with a capital R ;-)

great solution!

I thought the best spot to rubber band was the first level of nanok. There aren't any enemies at all and you can band 'er up right there :) nice solution though and helpful comments.

Might want to mention in your solution that this challenge has an on-screen timer, so you can ballpark how long it should take and then just look on the screen to see your progress.

This is going to take a while.

I not only tied my cord attaching my headset to my controller around the trigger, but I also looped it around the right stick as well. This makes it so the game won't idle. FYI =D

When I started grinding this, I had 80,000 shots, so 45,000 left. It took me 1hour 40mins to get the achievement. It's around 450 shots a minute. Thanks PlayingMantis37 for the spot!

Playing through I made sure to hold down shoot at every opportunity because I knew about this achievement and I still finished the game and all other achievements with only 60k shots fired. Definitely an elastic band job from here!

Same deal here, finished entire game, shot 66k times. Using this solution, cheers!

Rubber band method. Let the game run for 2h+. Got the achievement.

Just wanted to add that this achievement will pop in game as soon as you get 125000 shots fired. You do not have to finish the level.

It's not exact, but the approximate time is 5,000 shots every 10 minutes. Will update later as I am just over 5,000 away...so I'll report the exact time for the last stretch.

Silly question for a super old game, but does anyone know how to check their shots?

My secondary account is taking longer than it should. Man, not an achievement you want to glitch.

Oh and the down vote is from no lack of data, what is the rate of fire. It's not a good guide unless it's a complete guide after all.

Great guide +1

Oh, and ignore the hater who thinks you need to count each bullet to calculate rate of fire. The guide is definitely complete.

Even though Smiley shoots his pistols like Mini Uzi's on steroids, it takes a long time for the bullet count to stack up. I played through the game once and had around 45000 shots.

You can replay missions and challenges which can give you an extra 5000 shots or tape down the trigger on the controller to have smiley shoot forever while on the last mission of the game to hear smiley's theme song repeat over and over while you wait.

Also check your controller regularly as it will shut off if left alone.

You wont get this on your first playthrough. You'll have to go back and do a 2nd playthrough and/or do the Challenges to rack up the bullet count. I suggest you constantly hold down the  button as you play to speed this process along. One playthrough doing this will net you around 50-70k bullets fired depending on deaths, etc!

The best way to get this achievement is to do the rubber band trick. You'll get about 7-10k worth of bullets in about 1 hour or less.

If you want to see how many shots you've fired, just head to the Stats computer which is in the same room as Gerda to the right.
