How to unlock the ESCAPE AND EVADE achievement in Commandos 2 - HD Remaster - Definitive Guide

Just a little help for all those that have problems finishing this mission like I just had. Even if the mission objective states that you have to escape in a vehicle the truck on the other side of the river from your spawn does not count. Only the "Landwasserschlepper" (amphibious vehicle) does.
But be warned that in my case as soon as Tread (the driver character) was in this vehicle he could not leave it again (bug?). Everyone else was no problem. This does not prevent you from completing the mission but it makes all abilities and weapons of Tread unavailable (Knock-Out-Gas-Grenades, Molotov Cocktails etc.).
I left the vehicle at the start and completed everything else first and then swam back with Tread to get it. You have to leave the map on the road next to the truck. If you cannot drive over the logs blow up the truck (with the explosive barrels conveniently placed next to it
) and they should be destroyed (you will see no visible effect on them though).
