In this one there is another major bug: do not go up the ladder in the building where Smith is located as you can‘t go down from there anymore.
Especially not with Smith and the Thief as those are needed to use the radio and open the safe to end the mission.
Also, this mission is special regarding the bonus mission as it is integrated. If you collect all bonus books you have to do the invasion part at the end (after Smith uses the radio), before you finish the mission and get the achievement.
If you don‘t collect all bonus books, then the mission ends right after Smith uses the radio and you get the achievement immediately.
So, I recommend making a manual save before getting the last bonus book, getting the achievement, and then later on, if you want to, play the bonus invasion mission (there is no achievement for this).
