I highly recommend to do this achievement after beating a game in Original Mode.
When you will finish game in Original mode firstly, you will know all the levels very well and playing in rookie will take you much less time and care. You are much more powerful, ranges of throwing granades etc. are much higher, you will have more ammo.

The main benefit of Rookie Mode is the ability to withstand more damage and auto-heal with medkits in the inventory. This lets you sprint through guarded areas when you know where the mission objectives are.
