Go to Admin Panel

On the right side. Spawn item
Search/Pick Bed
Use LB to open wheel and equip bed
Place down
It will pop after

Is this achievement broken?

I have just found out to get this as its broken using a bed roll on the first journey. Open up the homesteader journey and make bed and place and it popped for me!

For me this only popped when I pressed Y on the first journey to auto-complete it

To further clarify what Wannagoflex said: you need to complete the default "Survivor" journey for this to pop. To do so, press Start -> Journey, highlight Survivor and press Y to skip it. Once I did that, this achievement (and some others that didn't seem to be working) immediately popped.

Press to bring up the menu. Select ‘Admin Panel’ and move over to the panel on the right called ‘Spawn Item’. Select ‘Building’ and scroll down and select ‘Bed’. Press on it once then close the Admin Panel. This will generate the item in your weapon wheel which you can open by holding .

In your weapon wheel, swivel the to highlight the Bed and release to ‘equip’ it. You can now place it anywhere on the ground. When you’ve completed this, the achievement will unlock (you don't actually have to sleep on it).
