After a few gigs you will have an option to purchase ammo and mod types which will become available during the gig.

All ammo can be upgraded.

Best ammo:

Turbo Egg: charges up a shot which flies at rocket speed
Freeze Ray: freezes ammo in mid air
Shroombella: covers two lanes, will go to one Lane if hit.
Boots, slippers, flip flops: ammo which splits into two mid way.
Sally’s dapper snek: a snake which moves in wave pattern between lanes.
Burning weapons: will cause fires to burn tank over time.

Best mods:

Shield keychain: will give tank extra 5 armour while the crafting combo reaches 5.
Hot stuffs package: will give enemy tank burn damage after killing 2 monsters.
Sticky glue: boosts ammo damage and conveyor belts tougher.
Monster elixir: gain 1 hp for each monster you kill
Pirates hat: gain an extra tank part after each battle.

Avoid the ones which lower hp or prevents you using other ammo, and the broccoli mod, gain extra speed but you spawn a broccoli each time you fire which will mess up your belts.
