Avoid all battles by "abandoning post." Just to make this faster, I would recommend doing this on new game+ with all health and speed upgrades. You can also do the under 3 hours achievement.
There are only a few tricky parts to this:
Chapter 2, use the artillery cannon on the fire trench to get the infirmary key.
Chapter 5, the "abandon post" hatch is second building.
