How to unlock the Astral Phenomena achievement in Control - Definitive Guide

This Achievement can be unlocked by "fixing the fridge" in the Side Misson Fridge Duty

Fast Travel to the Upper Panopticon Control Point in the Containment Sector. To enter the Cell you need talk the Warden. I recommend to get a few Health-Upgrades before trying this Side Mission.

Extra note on this, you can’t get this achievement until you complete the My Brother’s Keeper achievement. You can visit the fridge and pick up the quest beforehand, but can’t advance it til a little later.

^ It tells you that in the game if you're trying to do it beforehand.

I found this boss fight to be quite difficult. So here is some additional info to the other guides.

The boss has 3 phases.
Phase 1: only shooting of black balls.
Phase 2: shooting of black balls and occassionally hitting with his octopus arms
Phase 3: fast hitting with his octopus arms, occassionally shooting of black balls

Phase 2 starts after first third of energy is gone. Phase 3 starts after second third of energy is gone.

For phase 1 & 2 throwing 2 debris into the eye should do it. You can also catch the black balls an throw them back! But they have to be quite close.

Phase 3 is a real bitch. Mainly because there will be so much holes in the floor and you have to look upwards all the time. Most of my deaths came from falling.
You will also have to use dash (cn_B) more often here to evade the octopus arms. This will drain your energy and you will have to wait to throw again. But I found throwing still more successful than shooting.
You don't have to aim perfectly to hit the eye. If you don't hit the white you will still decrease some of his energy.
Try to change between a fast throw, dashing and sprinting around (click in cn_LS). During sprinting look at the floor and let the energy fill up.

The black energy orbs it shoots can also be destroyed by shooting them with your gun. I did that to give my energy time to regenerate.

I found Former to be a really, really, tough fight until I maxed out the Launch and Levitate abilities. Coming back later in the game I managed to take him out in handful hits just by throwing objects at the eye whilst hovering and dodging the attacks. It also helped to have mods equipped boosting energy and reducing Launch energy consumption.

Launch upgrades would be better. If you grab the orbs that Former pushes out and launch it right back into its eye, it can do a quarter damage every hit. Coupled with a few shots of Grip or another gun, it would be much faster than trying to dodge its attacks constantly for a shot.

In the Panopticon area, an agent named Phillip has been assign to stare at an Altered Item, Refrigerator. This side mission is called "Fridge Duty". Once you speak to Dylan in the main mission, this side mission will be available to complete. When you head back to speak to Phillip again, he will tell you that only Langston can open the door, head down to Security on Floor 1 in the same sector. Once you enter the room, you'll have to fight Former. Watch his leg attacks as it leaves a hole in the floor, leaving a chance for you to fall in, causing death. Try and shoot the bubbles it throws at you as soon as it appears from its eye, this will do some damage. Alternate between Weapon attacks and Launch attacks. Please follow this playlist on how to tackle these bosses head on: LINK

The quest is related to the refrigerator, the boss is simple.
when the energy ball flies, throw back with telekinesis, when it hits with your paws, either levitate and place a block, or stand and place a block, the main thing is to be careful, the floor may be broken.
Shoot in the eye.

In short pauses, shoot in the eye. When levitating, be sure to look down and land on areas of the floor far from the holes made: I fell there several times with full health a couple of shots before victory.

Former is a giant one-eyed boss. We will fight him twice in the game. After any of the two kills, an achievement will be given.

1st time associated with the quest - free the refrigerator
2nd time associated with the quest - free the flamingos

You need to hit the boss in his eye. When he shoots balls from it, we catch the balls with telekinesis and throw them back into the eye.
The only difficulty is that the boss breaks the floor, so when running from his blows you can fall under the floor and die. It's best to fly.
