How to unlock the Living Archetypes achievement in Control - Definitive Guide
First you have to get the mission "A matter of time" by speaking to a guy in logistics (containment level)
After completing A matter of time you will get another quest called "The enemy within". Return to "Sealed Threshold Hall" and open the vault in the main room with all the clocks. This is the same room that has the Lantern for another quest. This vault leads to an item that leads to the boss. One shot, when the red ball reveals itself, and the achievement's yours.

Note: This achievement lagged for me and took a few minutes to pop, after completing the quest.
You'll obtain a mission running through Parapsychology's Logistics from Horowitz and Wells about an Altered Item running through the Clocks. After helping Wells get back to his squadmate, you can take this task on, though you will need Levitate to get to it. Inside one of the safety barricades, you'll find the Anchor, an altered item controlled by the Hiss, and proceed into a boss battle.
The battle is simplistic. It'll start aiming to the platform right of you and spewing out more clocks. When it is open, aim into its opening with Launch and release to do damage. It'll rotate among the four platforms. After a few hits, some Hiss will load in, so do be careful of those in the mixture of it continuing its pattern, albeit faster. It doesn't take too many hits to destroy, or at least it didn't for me with my maxed out Launch ability, so just rinse and repeat. After defeating it, it'll hover back onto the first platform for you to Bind it.
By using the "special clock" for the launch hit from each of the platforms, it takes only 4 hits in total. Multi-launch didn't make it faster, still needed four hits in total.
Pay attention not to waste the "special clock" on the Hiss, use the other clocks for that.
One "vomit" of the Anchor can kill you, maxing out and boosting health can prevent being dead, but you will be on super minimum anyway.
When facing this boss, his attack rotation is 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock (as you enter), 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock. Use the clocks with the red faces first. They inflict a good amount of damage. As you continue hurting it with the small clocks, its rotations will begin to go faster. Weapon attacks will only do mosquito bites of damage so only use Weapon attacks against the Hiss. Be mindful of Hiss Charged and Hiss Elevated. If you are unable to hit it with a clock as its charging up its attack, levitate to the next platform to avoid any damage or use Shield () to take minimal damage. After escorting Wells back safely after Horowitz asks for you to look for him during the "A Matter of Time" side mission, he'll notify you that an Altered Item is still loose in the Sealed Threshold Hall area. This will trigger "The Enemy Within" side mission. Head back to the Sealed Threshold Hall and enter the shelter blast door.

Note: the battle is complicated by the spawning infected Iss explosives, but they are also a source of health on this boss; ordinary soldiers also sometimes appear, but they mostly die from the attacks of the boss himself
