One of the easier ways to do this, is during a festival. Most of the townfolk will be concentrated in one spot, so it is easier to keep track to whom you have gifted something.
So what I did was to stock up on wild flowers and scavengeagbles or fast growing crops like sugar cane during the beginning of the season. But you can do this with rocks or thrash as well (no-one will like it but a gift is a gift). Put them all in the inventory prior to the festival. During the festival talk to everyone and give them a gift and you should get it fairely quickly.
This method if repeated multiple times should also help with the reach 5 hearts with 25 people achievement more quickly.
