How to unlock the Creepy Card Shark achievement in Costume Quest 2 - Definitive Guide

This can be done pretty easily and fast if you equip the first three cards, go into a battle, use the 3 cards in first round and run away from battle right after that. You domt have to finish or even win the battle. Then equip the next three cards and attack the same enemy again. So you cant miss any card and because of the fact that the cards are locked after usage you cant use them twice.
I needed about 10 minutes to use all 45 cards that way, maybe even less.

for those wondering if this is missable - it's not. the last room has baddies and even after you beat it you can start from that last save and do this.

That is amazing. I just used the cards throughout the game and kept track of which ones I needed. I didn't know you could use them and run away. laugh

You can skip the animation when playing the card just like the opening battle animation.
Saves a min along with running away or going to a low level area like I did- one hit each enemy, skip the win animation as well.

There are 45 Treat Cards you can collect by finding them in chest, defeating enemies, trading with other kids or buying them from Shady.

Once you collect all 45 Treat Cards you will unlock
Costume Quest 245 Card PickupThe 45 Card Pickup achievement in Costume Quest 2 worth 83 pointsCollect all Creepy Treat Cards

When in free roam, press cn_Y to open your book and go to "Creepy Treats" by pressing cn_RB or cn_LB
Equip 3 cards by pressing cn_A.

In battle use all three cards and after the battle, equip the next 3 cards until you used them all in battle. Once a card is used, the power needs to regenerate for a couple of turns before you can use them again. Here is the list of cards with their powers:
* Sugar Droppings - Single full heal
* Fudge Crystals - Splash damage on all attacks
* Nubbins - 2x attack damage for next 3 attacks

You're welcome. When I finish the walkthrough I will update it with the location where you can find them. For now my draft is published in a blog Musquito's blog post - Costume Quest 2 WT (One edition) [IN PROGRESS]

I believe you can even "flee" after using the card and it still counts. X1 issues? Maybe it will unlock for you in a couple of days. Would not be the first time when there are issues, achievements unlock late.

I also had the delayed-pop issue (on Series X). I was worried that maybe some of the cards didn't count since I used them to no real effect - like if the card says it cancels all debuffs, but you use it without having any debuffs. But after I quit the game, reopened it, got into another battle and used a card again, it finally popped.

Has anyone had trouble with this achievement not unlocking? Ive used all 45 cards 100% sure of this and no achievement has popped up yet. I wonder whether its an isolated issue or not? I use the cards in play then run as instructed in this guide and nothing. I wonder whether you have to play theses cards and complete a whole battle 15 times with a set of three different cards?

I constructed a simple Google Sheet which lists the names of all 45 Creepy Treat Cards and has a space for you to mark whether you have used that Card. Feel free to make a copy for your own use by selecting "File --> Download as".

H/T to Musquito and Cuckoolander, as I copied and pasted the Card titles from their solution.

MISSABLE

There are 45 Creepy Treat Cards in the game, each with a different use in battle but there is no way of keeping track of which ones you have used. I highly recommend using them as you get them. You can also make note of which ones you've used to make keeping track easier. I personally didn't need to do this as I just went down the list using them, unequipping, then filling in with 3 more, and so on. You can use as many as you want in a single battle but only 1 time each card and there is a cooldown period requiring you to wait a certain number of battles before you can use again, just swap those out with usable ones. This is missable due to the Tongue Ties card, which requires completing the Trader Jho quest by trading her a spare Smoochies card. See 45 Card Pickup for the details.

Creepy Treat Cards can be collected and used to give significant advantages in battles. Press to open your journal and scroll over to the cards tab to view cards you've collected. There are a total of 45 cards. Up to 3 cards can be equipped to use in a battle, so you can do this 3 at a time. After using a card, there is a cooldown period where you can't use the same card again for several battles.

Keep note of which cards you've already used in a battle so you don't lose track and use the same cards more than once. If you've reached the end of the game and haven't used every card yet, you can find infinitely respawning enemies in the Dental Compound to help you finish faster.

The trophy is easy to miss!

It can only be obtained when you obtain the 45Card Pickup trophy. Accordingly, when you receive all 45 cards, you need to try them all in battle. If you left it until the end, there is a quick way to try them all. The secret is that the fight does not have to end. Just start the battle, use the 3 cards you chose at once, and escape from the battlefield on the next turn.
