Crackdown 2

I just finished Crackdown 2 (for the full 1500) and Earth Wind Fire was one of the last two achievements I had to unlock, so I figured I'd write up EXACTLY how I did this since I know that this can be problematic for some.

"Earth Wind Fire" actually means scoring "combo," "air," and "blast" kills in Deluge. Go ahead and load up a game of a deluge and make sure you are hosting and that no one can enter your game (this ensures you won't be bugged while going for the achievement). You'll want to start in Zone 1, Wave 8 of Hope Springs.

This is how I got each of the kill types:

Combo: Melee freaks WHILE STANDING ON THE GROUND.
Air: Shoot freaks WHILE IN THE AIR (use your thrusters)
Blast: Ground pound a group of freaks (Press and hold the B button while in the air)

Steps (you need to be quick during steps (3) - (7)) :
(1) Pick-up the sniper rifle that is part of the weapon drop at the beginning of the wave (right by where you spawn) and make sure it's your primary weapon.

(2) Take the jump pad to the group of freaks and land on the ground.

(3) Quickly melee kill exactly 3 freaks while on the ground.

(4) Jump in the air, and target and shoot exactly 3 freaks and then immediately land (DO NOT GROUND-POUND).

(5) Melee kill exactly 2 freaks (this brings your Combo kill up to 5)

(6) Jump back into the air, and target and shoot exactly 2 freaks (this brings your Air kill up to 5)

(7) Immediately ground-pound a group of AT LEAST 5 FREAKS (blast kills go up to 5 or more).

If your timing is good, your Air, Blast, And Combo kills will all be on screen at the same time which should unlock the achievement.

After trying to get 5 consecutive air, then 5 consecutive combo, and then 5 consecutive blast kills I decided to try breaking up the killing types (3 combo >> 3 air >> 2 combo >> 2 air) before finishing off the chain with blast kills. I unlocked the achievement on the first attempt this way.

Even though the sniper rifle's fire rate is horrible, it is far better to use than the default assault rifle your agent spawns with because it has a stronger shot (common freaks go down after one shot; Pounders go down after 2). Do not be overly picky with choosing freaks to kill - you'll waste too much time trying to get your auto-aim to target specific freaks - just take your shot(s) and move on to the next freak.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND using grenades or rocket launchers for blast kills because grenades take time to detonate and both grenades and rockets are highly imprecise when you are in a hurry; ground pound is quick and easy. Ending with the ground pound (blast kills) means you'll end up with the right amount of kills in each category (even if you go over after the "bodies have been counted" after the pound has landed! lol)

This achievement doesn't go into enough detail. The text should read "Achieve a 5x Combo, Blast, and Air in Deluge...AT THE SAME TIME."

Note that the 5x does not relate to your overall multiplier. Pretty much, you have to kill 5 enemies with an explosive, 5 enemies while in the air, and five enemies while on the ground before the game registers that particular streak and gives you points for it. In Deluge mode, pick out any wave with freaks. (Wave 1, Round 4 in Hope Springs works), Throw a grenade while hovering in the air, then shoot five enemies with your gun while hovering in the air. Land on the ground and either shoot or melee kill five more enemies. If you did this fast enough, you should get the achievement.

Go to Hope springs, Zone 1, Wave 8. Nice and easy, enough freaks and enough open space to get it here. When the launch pad shoots you over to the area hover over the freaks, throw a granade into the right hand side of the pack, once you have your 5-11 blast kills, whatever you get, start shooting the freaks on the left till you kill five, then land and start shooting the remaining freaks. All the time your doing this remember to keep an eye on the right hand side of the screen, here it will tell you what kills you have for Blast, Air and ground. Enjoy your achievement, i hope this helps.

Like the guide WOODY2211 provided, I did this on Hope Springs, Zone 1, Wave 8. I missed getting the achievement a couple times using his method, so I switched it up a bit.

After taking the jump pad, hover in the air with your thrusters. Shoot and kill at least 5 freaks while hovering to get 5x Air. Then ground pound and kill at least 5 freaks for 5x Blast. Then shoot and kill at least 5 freaks while on the ground for 5x Combo.

I got it on my first try, taking all of 15 seconds.

I got it on hope springs zone 1 wave 8

Grab rocket launcher then after that jump on launch pad shoot rocket behind fence for 5 blast kills then press X to swith to your gun and kill 5 while hovering with thrusters over the pile in the street then ground pound and shoot and kill 5 then shoot five on ground you must be fast at it or you must save and quit and retry it hope this helps
