How to unlock the The Closer achievement in Crackdown 2 - Definitive Guide

This is a pretty easy achievement if you have friends playing with you. Just bring a few explosives, and UV weapons to the breach spots located on your map. If you don't have Xbox Live it is recommended that you bring a helicopter from the agency to quickly deal with them. Search for the breach icon's on your map and quickly go destroy them by killing all freaks that come out of them. Breaches are only accessible during the night so make sure you get as many closed as you can before day time.

Has anyone talked about this being glitched? I closed my last breach just as dawn was approaching. It gave me credit for closing it on the information screen and it says I have all of them closed but the achievement did not pop but when I check the map that particular breach is still lit up and not greyed out like the rest. Anyone know?

The achievement is glitched for me as well. I have closed all of them but it still didn't pop. Quite frustrating to have to start a new campaign to get this one.

The best & fastest way I found how to do this is to go to Agency Tower, go to the helicopter pad & get the helicopter with the rockets. Then go to each Freak Breach & hover above it, you don't have to land, & the Breach will open. Then fly up a little and start shooting the rockets till all the Freaks are gone.

You get to the Freak Breaches faster & kill everyone quicker.

There is a few that are indoors so it won't work on those but 98% of them can be done this way

This is the same way I did it. It's still possible to fly the chopper inside some of the indoor ones, it just takes a bit of careful flying.

The freak breaches are designated on your map by a yellow 'splat' symbol. Obviously they're only active at night.

Once night falls, the icon will appear on your map. Head over to the breach, and hold 'y' to trigger the outpouring of freaks. Just keep gunning them all down until the meter in the top corner of the screen is almost empty, and then move on to the next breach (once the breach is almost cleared out, you'll get the congratulatory comment over your radio and warned that a helicopter is inbound to clear the remainder - once the helicopter has come in and pummelled the area, your map will update with the location of the next breach!)

A couple of times we got caught out by the dawn arriving - the good news is that when we went back the following night, it remembered how much we had cleared - normally all of it - and carried on from the previous night, but it did seem like it had got kinda buggy each time until we figured it was just the daybreak.

I think there was 25 breaches in total, and I have two words for you as a tip... Cluster Grenades :)

There are a total of 25 Freak Breaches found in Pacific City. Once you detonate a beacon, a Freak Breach will appear in the vicinity. Freak Breaches are found by their yellow markers. They can only be accomplished at night. The best weapon to quickly get rid of them is by using the UV Shotgun at large groups and once there is a huge cluster of them, throw grenades/use explosive weapons. Once you have killed all of the enemies, a helicopter will come and close the hole. This counts as closing a Freak Breach.
