How to unlock the Orb Hunter achievement in Crackdown - Definitive Guide

EDIT 27/12/19: ilMaTic BUTCH3R has managed to locate the Hidden Orb map and screenshots! Huzzah! Please refer to his solution for the weblink.

The rest of my solution is here for posterity in case any of the other points or comments help you.

If like me you started collecting the Hidden Orbs a long time ago using the Candied Skull source, but never finished this tedious job, you'll be worried to find that the website no longer exists. I was going through each of the orbs in the numbered order, which the YouTube solution cannot help you with unfortunately.

Thankfully someone else is now hosting the original map and Hidden Orb screenshots.

Frode is very kindly public sharing the screenshots, however I would suggest that you download the album on to your own computer because it takes at least six hours to get all the Orbs and this album may not be available indefinitely.

This might seem obvious, however I strongly suggest you attempt this achievement, the Agility Orbs and the Stunt Markers when all gangs have been eliminated. Do not resurrect the gangs, it will make your life hell.

Doing this with gangs isn't nearly as bad as you make it sound, I did the agility orbs with all the gangs and didn't have much problem but I suppose it would make it easier. Thanks for the map.

I'm glad the gangs weren't an issue for you. My experience was very different, particularly for the stunt markers - the gang and police cars kept getting in the way of the trucks all the time, it was intensely frustrating!

I second not having to do this with the gangs. Especially in the last section with the guys that have the heat seeking rockets. I used the pictures and map used in the links for this solution, top notch!

Any advice how to get 181 on the bridge from the Volk area. Its the bridge with white support cables. The orb is on the very top. Thanks in advance.

I can't find the statue where the 71th hidden orb is. Is it possible the statue to be destroyed?

Orb 99 will be the very last one. I thought i fucked up. i had 299 when i got to orb 300 marked on the map. Turns out, there are 301 photos and the last one will be located as number 99 on the map. number 99 and 100 are in very similar places so be mindful when it comes to finding them.

I got stuck on 299/300 and had to go back over a lot of them, but finally found the mistake.
Turns out I collected no.209 and thought it was 208. Then marked 209 as not found. 208 is above up in the cave. Just thought id share this in case someone else does the same by mistake!

Been through this all 2 times now. Awesome guide but 71 is not there. The statue was already gone before I started this.

same... no statue. sucks. spent all day meticulously going through these for nothing!!

edit... resurrected the gangs to get statue back but still no orb. either i missed one or it bugged but hot damn not sure i have the patience to find out

Unfortunately it looks like you have to download all of the screenshots individually, there is no option to download the full album in a single file.

Anyone looking at this now, Google+ is getting killed off (and all content deleted) on April 2nd 2019 and all the sceenshots are hosted there. So defo grab them while you can.

Struggled finding the last few .....
So turn on Small Speaker Mode under audio settings!!
Also, with the last few I went around the edge of every island and found a few there and check under and above all bridges.

I strongly recommend NOT using the gamespy guide posted above. I wasted much time using it, assuming it was the best I could find. It includes many errors... missing orbs, orbs listed multiple times, poor / useless screenshots, missing screenshots, incorrect map locations, misleading descriptions, confused directions, etc. Also, the order is grossly inefficient, taking you back and forth all over the map.

Go to ilMaTic BUTCH3R's solution and use the links there. The guide is superior in every way.

BE AWARE, at least 2 of the Hidden Orbs in the Crackdown Walkthrough here on TA are WRONG. This map has everyone correctly laid out.

Thank God🥵 i completed this today i went one by one exactly by this map and the photos of the locations (guide below) i finished the whole map and had 299/300 i was so pissed, i turned it off and i thought that the map isnt correct. After 2 hours i went back on and i randomly traveled to number 54 because i knew i wasnt sure if i got them all in this location cause the orbs are underground (entrance to the underground at 53) and the number 54 was the last one i needed!!!! So everyone please be aware and make sure that you search through every hole in the underground section, its pretty chaotic in there! Thank you all for the guides once again!

As Ginn0rz mentioned the Candied Skull source containing the numbered map of hidden orbs is no longer available; however, it can still be accessed using a web archive site such as waybackmachine.com. These websites take a snapshot of a webpage at a certain point in time so that it can be accessed in that state at a later time. I have included two waybackmachine.com links, one for the Candied Skull numbered hidden orb map and one for a Picasa web album containing individual pictures of each orbs location in-game. I did not create these maps or guides, I am simply providing a means to access webpages that have since been taken down. Please let me know how I can improve or clarify this solution.

For the Orb Photo Gallery, you have to load April 2011 to see the photos otherwise they won't load. I had to do this twice my missing numbers were 101, 152,182, 206, 208 and finally after 5 hours of not finding anything else 281. This achievement itself took around 20 hours to complete.

Here is a full series of video guides from 'Crackdown1king' he is a sort of veteran of the game who helps people with its achievements and he recently made full videos on all of the Hidden Orbs. I got permission to post these on TA so I hope you enjoy! Full Credit to Crackdown1king. Each video is in order from each of the 4 islands and then a final mop up of the last 6 orbs.

Very rarely do I post a guide when I don't have the achievement, but I figured I would add my input.

Here is a video of the hidden orbs in Los Muertos. In addition to this I was using the hidden orbs location map.

Maps and videos are obviously the best way to go, but something that has helped me is wearing a proper stereo headset (currently on 290/300)

There's a generous sound radius emitted from hidden orbs that penetrates walls/ceilings/rocks - you might miss it if the sound is coming out of your TV.

Since I picked the game back up I know I've had a lot more success finding them with a headset on.

I've also found that revisiting Boss areas now under Agency control yields a few orbs that you may have missed "on mission" due to the ridiculous amount of gunfire/explosion noise.

Just got around to finishing this hunt in 2024. I used the following archived guide:

The last few Orbs I was missing were Numbers: 66, 76, 82, 94, 205, 208, 213, and 242.

I recommend opening a separate browser tab for the individual orb location images, using the still active left and right arrows in the Archived Picasa gallery, and going to the exact location in game. It should be noted that several of the screenshots show various Gang banners and signs that will no longer appear once the faction has been removed, so the view will not 100% match what you see in game if you've done the missions.

If you have any doubts about whether you have already gotten a particular Orb, break out the pen and paper and note the Numbers that you're uncertain about and revisit them after you've done an initial cycle of all 300. I somehow missed 8 after my first round.

While you're near an Orb, do a visual sweep for any green Agility Orbs. A lot of them are located near Hidden Orbs and you can save yourself some extra effort.

Find and collect all 300 hidden orbs in game. Can be rather annoying if you do them out of order so your best bet is to use the map below, mark off each orb as you collect it, and finishing one territory/island before starting another.
