You can access the DLC level either from the first island before N’Sanity Beach, or you can go there after finishing The Lab.

WARNING: This level was considered too hard for the games original release on PS1. It is essentialy an alternate version of Slippery Climb. You CAN die in this level..

The best way to get lives is to get the green gem and then go to Castle Machinery and there are twenty-seven extra lives waiting for you. You can load the auto save and return until you easily reach ninety-nine in just a couple of minutes. I just got done speed running this level and got just under four minutes and it is one of the most daunting things I have ever done hands down.

As stated before farm lives on Castle Machinery first. Took me 64 lives on my first try.

Green Gem is so important to get so you can farm those lives - not ashamed to say I burnt through 150 lives trying to do this - but I’m also not very good. Just be patient and practice.

I can’t do the the first jump after you have to jump on the platform that goes in and out. I can’t farm the green gem as I don’t have it.

Pretty easy actually. Didn't die once in the second half of the level (after the bonus stage).
There are plenty of lives throughout the level so I only had 5 lives less than when I started the level.
The hardest part is the jump at 2:47. Died plenty of times by hitting my head and landing on the spiky thing. But once you die enough and get Aku Aku for your efforts, you can just take a hit and move on.

This may be obvious, but get 99 lives before entering this level, just to be safe:

You don't want to have game over at the middle of the level.

Finish The Stormy Ascent And Claim It's Gem.
-Collect A Non-Colored Gem By Getting All The Boxes And Then Completing A Level
You Can Die.

Tips:

This Level Uses Almost Every Game Mechanic They've Thrown At You So Far:
- Fast Moving Platforms, Collapsable Stairs, Tons Of Long Jumps, Spikes, Potion Throwers, Etc
- This Level Also Has Horrifying Sideways-Moving Birds. Not Fun.
- Wait For The Bird To Move Away From You Then Jump On It.

This Level Is Rough.
- Checkpoints Are Super Useful.
- Completing Any Bonus Level Is Both Required And A Helpful Checkpoint.

Good Luck, You're Going To Need It!

This achievement requires you to get the clear gem on the bonus level 'Stormy Ascent,' which is accessed either from the first level in the game (go left) or the last level in the game (go up).

While this level is significantly longer than any levels in the main game, the good thing is that all of the boxes are out in the open; none are hidden anywhere tricky. Just pay attention to the little doorways you can walk back into, which sometimes have a couple boxes sitting in them, but other than that, all other boxes are right on your path and very obvious.
