How to unlock the Unstoppable Force achievement in Crawl - Definitive Guide

Background:

This achievement is no joke. It will take patience, skill, and luck.

Complete a few games until you unlock the Deity Chz.

Once you've unlocked him, start up a game. Choose Chz as your deity. Set bots to 3 and difficulty to HARD.
During the opening free-for-all battle, make sure you WIN and get at least two kills. If you lose, or you only get one kill, start over. You will need to go first, and you will need the money from two kills. If you can get all three kills, even better.
Note: These kills do NOT count as part of your 12.
Note 2: The slimes that ghosts can spawn after collecting ectoplasm also does not count as a kill.

Choosing Chz will start you with the vampire ring. This means every time you attack an enemy, you will get back a tiny amount of health. It is not much, and you can by no means rely on it. But it adds up.

After winning the duel, venture into the dungeon. The basic strategy is to run forward, attack the enemies (preferrably two or three at a time bunched up) and then dodge roll away. Wait a second or two for your dodge roll to come back and then repeat. This is not full proof. You will get hit a lot. The AI does not fool around. They will sometimes track your dodge roll and attack you anyway. But the health you recover from your ring will help you stay alive.

Since it is floor 1, the AI will be using the basic monsters. That is pretty much the only time you have a chance to kill 12 without dying, unless you are a GOD at this game. if you find the stairs to level 2, DONT go down them. This will allow the AI to level up their monsters. You dont want that. If you are out of rooms to explore on floor 1 and there are no more opportunities for monsters, you will have to go down. If you have no choice, you have no choice. It happened to me several times, and level 2 ended badly for me very quickly with their powered-up monsters. On my successful run, I got 12 on floor 1.

If you can find a shop early, it will make your life much easier. Buy a stronger and faster weapon with the money you won from the intro duel. Use any excess money on potions. Any of them are fine, they all help in different ways, so choose your own preference. If you are really low on health, buy ones that give +2 to health and it will restore a little health, which may save you.
