How to unlock the Don't Dream It's Over achievement in Cricket 19 - Definitive Guide
Nope, it's super easy. Simulating does not affect this achievement.
Pick your team. (I used two controllers to be sure.) Bat first (easier with two controllers). Go to simulate. Choose to stop after each over or, if you're feeling daring, stop after each wicket, but MAKE SURE TO STOP NO LATER THAN THE 89TH OVER.
Go back into the game. Have your second controller pitch the over. Hit the 90th over, and POP! (Maybe you could simulate to the last ball, but I didn't feel like mucking it up.)
Cheers!

Thanks. This is a better solution than the other one.

Great solution. Takes about five minutes.
Another trick I tried was changing England’s (who I was playing as) batting lineup to just batsmen and then changing Australia’s on player 2 to just batsmen and wicketkeepers. The opposition having no bowlers meant I reached 414-4 after 89.5 overs with my strong batting lineup (no feted collapse this time), defended one ball and the cheevo popped.

Just unlocked this after some experimentation..
Start an Ashes series and choose to play as a star player, then select James Anderson of England as he will bat at number 11 guaranteed. Start the first test match of the series as normal and you want to be batting first ideally to save time - if Joe Root chooses to bowl or Aus choose to bat then start a new series until you bat first.
At this point the game will simulate until you are required to bat, and with you (Anderson) batting at 11 in the England order a number of overs will have passed by once you come in. As long as you come in prior to 90 overs and are still batting beyond the 90 over mark the achievement will unlock, saving you a lot of time instead of facing delivery after delivery for the full 90 over period.
In my own experience I came in with Anderson in the 84th over and had to survive a further six overs, however this will obviously vary depending on your own in-game simulation. If you find yourself coming in too early/miles away from the 90th over then I'd advise to restart a new series and try again.
Once you're batting just ensure that you retain the strike at the end of each over - for non-cricket fans this basically means that you need to score a single from the 6th and final delivery of each over to ensure you are on strike for the following over. If you don't do this your AI partner may get out when you are off strike and as it will be the final wicket partnership the innings will close at that point.
Hope this helps.
