How to unlock the This is my Number achievement in Cricket 19 - Definitive Guide
Simulation is your friend! You can get this by simulating everything which is easy but a bit boring. Start a new career as a rookie player (I chose a West Indian batsman) and get simulating. If you would rather play for real then you do get more XP for doing so, so you'll level up more quickly per game than simulating, but each game takes much longer to play for real than simulating.
To make it a little bit faster, make sure you assign your skill points and also choose one of the perks for being more likely to get chosen for T20/ODI/Test games. Along the way you will get the achievements for reaching a certain level in career, and if you find that you get the national team cheevo before the one for reaching level 40, just keep simulating and you'll get it eventually.

Whoo boy, I did almost the whole thing legit with some simulation and a few notes from me if you do want to go that way. It should be faster just simulating but it seemed to me that increasing Overall ranking and maybe two seasons of good performances gets you to the contract signing. I hit 66-70 with my player before I got the first series.
1. Alternate between playing as just your character or as the whole team. Playing as yourself is the only way to gain Ability Points for each aspect outside of the boring training sections.
2. Use a second controller to play as the opposition if you play as the whole team since the point is to complete a specific challenge like bowling xx maiden overs or xxx dot balls, this just makes it easier than forcing the AI to behave your way.
3. Fielding doesn't matter much so skip is whenever you can.
4. Perks are very useful, try to pick the ones that improve stamina and whatever else you prefer. Eventually there will be ones to multiply the Ability Points you get so those are good to pop on there.
5. The achievement unlocks as soon as you reach the first game of the series on your calendar.
Good luck, it will take a while.

Guess you have to actually play the game to improve your player? I'm sitting on 1200+ skill points from simulating and unable to spend them as the skills are all locked out.
I'm level 50 and stuck with a 30 rating, dunno if further simulation will get me that international call up.
