When you are in the menu, you should see an option to play the ashes, click it and make sure to play as any of the teams and NOT as a star player, this is because if you play as a star player, it simulates the other batsmen which doesnt count towards this achievement. Play as a full team and bat first, make sure the difficulty is set to easiest and use 
to hit aggressive shots with the opening batsmen, this will guarantee a six on basically every ball. Should not take too long to get to 250 runs like this.

If you do get out, just quit the match straight away. When you go back into the match it will have saved before you got out.
