This can be a pain as as you have to ensure that Kinect recognises you, mine wasn't as I was reclining so had to sit up and re-calibrate kinect.

Raise your hand above your head at the Mission/Dragon Roost/Shop/Inventory screen say each of the the following followed by pressing B to get back to the main screen :-

Dragon Roost
Shop
Inventory screen

Raising your hand tells the game that you're wanting to speak to it and not the MS Operating System which is you talking directly to the the commands apps EG "Xbox -> Snap TV" and is different and won't work.

EDIT - According to RareWhiteTRASH "if you hold the RB down it will pop the voice command prompt without the need to raise your hand above your head!"

But I tried couldn't get that to work.

EDIT 2 - Some people are stating that putting your hand on your head can help.

EDIT 3 - From CTM AudiR56 - Press the two square "back" button on the menu screen to bring up a box that show a green stick figure outline of your body. Couldn't get it to see my hand until I stood about 6ft back and had my body fully seen in the center of the box. Then held the controller to my chest, and shot my right hand over my head and finally got it to come up. Held my hand in place until in mission, then lowered it and shot it right back up the same way to finally get it to show in game.

EDIT 4 - From MatrikzHH - Beware, that you have to use the commands in the language of your console. I'm from Germany, so I had to say "Drachenhöhle", "Shop" and "Inventar".

EDIT 5 - From Darkest Nirvana - I stood about two feet back from where my Kinect was. Raise your hand straight into the air. Take a step towards your Kinect (to be closer to its mic) and say loudly and as clearly as possible the commands. Was able to do all of these with little trouble once I figured this out.

The voice command works, but crimson dragon game can't seem to pick me up or something because I do not see any voice commands and it is frustrating. RB does not work as I have tried pressing and holding it...

Yeah it's very flaky, only thing I can suggest is to re-calibrate using the system settings menus as it calibrated slightly wrong for me and it thought the floor was about a foot higher than it was. Calibrate ground level then in the game sit right in front of the Kinect but so you can see yourself fully then raise your hand just so the game can also see it raised.

When in the game raise your hand above your head, it should then show the microphone in the bottom right hand corner meaning it's then awaiting for your command.

Thank you Nerd For Truth! I recalibrated my Kinect by manually setting the floor level. And then I had to turn off and turn on Kinect in in-game settings in order for it to work.

Also, I believe the game has to see both your controller and your hand in order to have the microphone icon on. I held my controller with my left hand a bit higher than what I normally do (so that Kinect can see it) and raised my right hand up, and the microphone icon popped up.

I did not need to press B to go back each time. "Dragon Roost", "Shop", and "Inventory" worked.

I tried Dragon Roost a million times by now and it doesn't work, the other two are fine. Really frustrating!

Extremely annoying. I also had problems with "inventory". I finally tried saying it really fast and it worked instantly. Maybe just a fluke but Worth trying anyway if you have problems.

It first didn't recognised the "hand up" gesture. I was sitting on my couch so I figured maybe if I stand up. And what do you say... As soon as I stood up it worked perfectly every time.

spent a while trying to get this dragon roost and shop worked fine. trying to get the mic up was a right pain. when I recalibrated I moved the floor down slightly as it was too high. when I was trying to get inventory turns out I was saying it wrong haha. I was going in-ven-tory when its suppose to be in-ven-tury. the pronunciation made the difference!!

Can confirm CTM AudiRS6's tip worked straight away for me, shooting hand up fast seemed to do the trick. I also could only get it to work when I said inventory - not inventory screen if that helps anyone.

Roost/inventory worked straight away but after saying shop i'm getting a tick next to the microphone but its not taking me into the shop, tried at least 50 times

I tried everything to make this microphone icon appear...
It finally works when I switch my controller off (I t automtically came back to the dashboard) and launched the game again...

But now commands don't work....

I tried again in the evening. No problems.
Maybe the lighting of the calibrated kinect makes a difference.

Nvm finally got it (:
What I did was I made sure my kinect was able to see my floor and I put my hand over my head so it can fully see me and the mic popped up

Finally got this achievement. To get the mic to pop in the bottom from the right I had tried recalibrating my kinect and sorting the floor level out all while waving my arms all over the place trying to get it to work and nothing.

I gave up and clicked on 'Missions' on the menu, while selecting the mission I scratched my face and the mic popped up straight away. I've tried since and it never comes up for me while in the single player menu but when in 'Missions' it never fails to recognise me.

I tried it on 3 different account, you have to put your hand to your left ear and say the commands. So I would say I can confirm it.

my kinect recognized my hand gesture but it wouldnt navigate by voice. i went to the options in game and turned off my kinect then turned it on again then it worked with voice commands flawlessly.

Well I've got the Kinect to recognize me and can say the commands. Everything navigates properly, but the achievement will not pop. I've gone to the required menus for the achievement.
I've got the wingman achievement to pop. But The Navigator achievement will not pop.

Is this achievement known to be glitched or am I just having bad luck?

It's just bad luck, sadly.

Plenty of people have it, it's just a case of persevering. Are you able to get to all 3 screens?

Saying inventory in Australia doesn't work i had to sound like the dickheads in the movies and say inventry or sounded more like infantry after many attempts. Very annoying.

Ok. Looks like it was an issue with the achievement system on Xbox one altogether again. I haven't got to check on my box yet. But TA is showing it unlocked, along with a few that wouldn't pop yesterday!!!

Just to cheer up ppl who have problem unlocking. I have issues as well :)). Shop is pretty straight forwards but Inventory and dragon roost are to be mastered. I hired my 4 year old daughter but still nothing. Thinking of asking my 6 months old son, who knows...
Ill try with my missus tonight. Fingers crossed :D.

I went through all of your edits, but when I started game with me in front of Kinect, it at least registered me. But, just the box isn't enough. Once I had the stick figures, I had to trust my hand up sharply and I knew it worked ONLY when I also got the microphone symbol in the bottom right corner after thrusting my hand in the air. Them it was a breeze. Also, double check you have Kinect enabled I options

I've been doing this for a while aswell. But i have tip. This is if you can get your hand gesture recognised but the kinnect wont understand your voice inputs.

If you have a computer or a smartphone near you, what you can do is go to google translate and simply put in "shop","Dragon Roost" and "inventory" and select English language. Press the speaker icon and a lady will say the word you wrote, and simply aim your speakers towards your kinnect. Might not work for everybody, but it did for me.

Ok--what worked for me. I had never used a kinect before, and this was a pain! First I did the hand calibration testing where you practice moving things on screen. Then I did voice calibration and it seemed to save something. I did NOT move the kinect at all after that. I went into Crimson Dragon, in the menu's, and pressed the

button so it shows the small box on the bottom left underneath "Inventory". Mine at first didn't have a green stick figure. What I think got it to "see" me was raising my controller up near me instead of leaving it sitting on the desk. Almost as soon as I did that, I saw the green stick figure!!! Btw, I was sitting the entire time, except for a brief moment when I stood up trying to get the green stick figure--it's possible that standing up while holding the controller solved the missing green stick figure. Once I had the GSF, I practiced saluting Nazi style, practiced jabbing my hands in the air like a maniac, practiced grabbing my hair and my ears, and finally the mic showed up underneath "Inventory" right when I brought my hands down!?! Anyway, I got two of the voice commands in, then did the hand dance until the mic showed up again and got my last command out. It didn't recognize my "shop" at first, had to try that several times. hope this helps a little!

My Kinect was recognizing me fine, but I still wasn't getting the mic. I completely restarted the game, recalibrated, etc. to no avail. I had the small box open when I got frustrated, and left the room. When I came back, the Kinect did not recognize me at first. After standing for about 30 seconds, my stick figure came back in the box. At that time, I tried raising my hand, and the mic icon popped up right away.

I tried saying Inventory screen for ages with no success, then I just said 'Invent Screen' and it popped straightaway. Don't know if that helps.

In my frustration with the Kinect, I learned that if you hold the RB down it will pop the voice command prompt without the need to raise your hand above your head!
