This boss battle occurs at the top of the laboratory in Cinder. The boss is immune to burn, but not poison. Considering how often it takes a turn, I highly recommend keeping it poisoned. I was about 18 hours into the game when I unlocked the achievement.

any idea what the machine behind the boss do ?

It takes a set sequence of actions, using the forges to create it's swords.
