How to unlock the Level 5 Completed on Normal achievement in Crypt of the Serpent King - Definitive Guide
The dudes on this level are fast and have a halberd! Don’t be intimidated as the same rule of dodge and attack applies. The jumps are slightly harder on this level, try not to jump from the bottom of the step but the top, you will make it

The knights with the halberds are lightning quick.
I'm not sure if it's intentional or just a quirk of this procedurally generated level design, but I found I ran in to groups of 2 or 3 knights together multiple times on the same playthrough, often forcing me to run and jump on to a lava island to escape.
The sword can reach across the lava gap to hit the enemies if they chase you to the edge. For guys you can't reach, you can vacate the lava island from the opposite side and either run away or fight them one-on-one, as the AI doesn't seem to follow you.
I also had one occasion where I hit a knight from across the lava gap, only to have him charge forward into the lava where he was then able to injure me before he eventually succumbed.
The knights have two attack animations - a forward stabbing attack and an over-the-shoulder swinging attack.
I found the pause window between their attacks to be very narrow compared to all other enemies so far. The backup-then-attack strategy works, but its margin of safety is very small.
I managed to buy the sword before the start of Level 5. My loadout for stats (Strength/Endurance/Agility) was 6-5-6.
I could kill all the knights in two hits. However, the knights react so fast that I would often be attacking when they already started another attack animation. Most successful attacks would cancel their attack animation, but sometimes I would take damage even though I struck them if my timing wasn't perfect. The other problem is that if your attack misses, you are going to take a hit.
The jumping on this level is the hardest in the game after they patched level 4 in 2017. The platforms are octagonal, sloped with stairs and surrounded by lava. A simple running jump is sufficient to jump on, but the "can't jump when descending the stairs in midair" bug makes getting off the platforms tricky.
As described elsewhere, I used the "walk to the edge, stop, press A alone while stationary and then immediately press forward" technique to get off the platforms. I found it helpful to look down with the right analog stick to get as close to the edge as possible (I did die a few times getting too close and falling off).
The final boss is very easy with one simple swing attack and goes down in 4-5 hits.
