How to unlock the Level 7 Completed on Easy achievement in Crypt of the Serpent King - Definitive Guide
For the first six levels on Easy, I developed an approach to enemies where I would swing and miss before they reach you to trigger the AIs own attack animation, then rush in to attack them between swings.
I found this approach stopped working against the Snake enemies. They would seemingly randomly do a double attack which made triggering their attack animation to be too risky. They also still do tons of damage even with Endurance maxed to 10.
I then tried to use the Bow to kill them from range. This strategy works well initially, but you only start with 20 arrows and extra arrows collected from previous levels do not carry over. It takes 3 arrows to kill each Snake even with the best bow and there are at least 19 enemies in the level, so I would often run out 2/3 of the way through the level since chests only seem to give 4-5 arrows each time. I died several times when I would run into two snakes at once when out of arrows. Circle strafing didn't seem to work well because 1) there's not enough room most of the time to get around the Snake and 2) the hitboxes don't work very well from anywhere but the front
I found the jumping mechanics over the spike pits to be much more forgiving for this Level 7. I used running jumps to get on the islands, lining up to jump into the long side of the key pedestal to get on and then backing up and doing a running jump along the long side of the pedestal to get off.
Finally, I went back to the old "backup as the Snakes chase you (without triggering their attack), attacking them in between their lunges with the Sword while backing up in between. The Sword kills them usually in two hits. I only used the bow if two Snakes were attacking me at once, which makes timing much more difficult for melee attacks.
I also found it helpful to save as many arrows as possible for the final boss, who seems to have much more health and attack much more aggressively then previous bosses. I went into the final boss with 55 HP and won by the skin of my teeth with 5 HP left.
